Charlarn of Phyrah: male human cleric 4/ranger 2

Patlin said:
"The sacrifices to open the gate have allready been made, though I thank you for your offer. Only by going through the gate could you learn what will be necessary to restore your friends."
"Thank you. We'll be back as soon as we can. The merrow are going to be angry. Keep watch."
Patlin said:
You are in shallow water, as you can tell by the bright sunlight shining all around you. Coral, so odd in the lake, is all about you.
Charlarn looks around in wonder. "That was amazing." He looks around for mermen.

No merfolk appear in the waters beside you, but when Iggy kicks up to the surface he finds himself surrounded by the shores of an atol. Up on the rocks of the shoreline, a mermaid sits basking in the warmth of tropical sunlight.

As he surfaces, she looks him over without surprise.

"As it was foretold. You have come for the hammer?"

Iggy reflects upon the vision he'd had. These merfolk could help in more ways than one, it appeared.

"Greetings." Iggy attempts to look respectful and dignified as he treads water. "I am Ignatious O'Reilly. We do need the hammer. We also need help raising our friends from the dead.

"Ah... more is made clear. We knew that there would be an exchange of services. Wait here, I will bring The Eldest."

Not too much later, half a dozen merfolk arrive.

"Welcome, travellers. We greet you in friendship and hope. It is said that you will drive the pirates from our waters, and relieve us of the burden that is the hammer Goruksblain. In return, we are to do a service for you. Explain what you require."

Iggy takes the opportunity to climb out of the water & stand on the sands of the atol while the Merfolk gather. He tries to brush the water out of his hair and look dignified.

"Greetings. I am Ignatious O'Reilly. These are my friends." He introduces everyone one by one. "I believe we do know what to do with the hammer. This should solve the problems of your kinfolk in the lake. Will this solve your pirate problem as well? In any case, we do have a service to request in return for the dangerous work we do. Two of our friends have died fighting the merrow and wizards who hold out against your people. In order to complete our task and use Goruksblain as intended, we must have them with us. We have some of their hairs with us now. Can you bring them back to life?"

Charlarn bows, "Greetings to you as well. What do you mean by the hammer being a burden?"

"It has a mind of its own, and it is a stern master. Only those of noble heart, willing to make sacrifices to destroy great evil, should dare to take it up."

Charlarn says, "I see. I'd like to take a look at the weapon, but first we want to bring our friends back from beyond. Are the pirates you spoke of related to the merrow that your brothers hired us to beat?"
