Is the group able to guess where on the edge of the lake the merrow lair is? If so, perhaps it would be worth exploring around on land in that area, looking for a passage.

Yes, you are sure you can find it. That side of the lake pushes up hard against the mountains. If you would like, you could explore around in that area, or simply enter the lake and dive into the underwater entrance from that part of the shore.

Charlarn of Phyrah: male human cleric 3/ranger 2

IC: Iggy says, "I believe if we circle around the lake some, I should be able to get everyone down on only one wand charge. That's what I think we should do. If nothing else, it will also give us a better lay of the land. We shouldn't rule out the posibility that there is a land entrance to the merrow lair."
Charlarn says, "Let us look for a entrance above ground first. If it's used often, there should be plenty of tracks around it. I doubt they took care to hide them. If we can't find one, then we'll go back underwater. We may need that wand for a quick escape."

"Seems fine with me. So we will likely to fight against Aquatic Ogre, Trolls and Wizards. I'll have to make a few changes to my chosen spells. We take some rest and we go tomorrow morning?" asks Opale

Everyone may reselect spells, rest, and heal overnight. You might also want to cast healing spells on the wounded before resting. Note the horns of healing were all used up after the battle.

On the morrow, the adventurers set out to explore. Arriving on the south side of the lake, the adventurers are confronted with mountains rising steeply above the lake.

Iggy agrees with Charlarn's plan. Though not injured nor seriously spell depleted himself, he agrees to wait until morning to set out. He mentally summons his bat, Kennedy, from where he is hanging under the eaves of a house.

Revised spell list:
Level 0 (4+1 div): detect magic(D), light(x2), message(x2)
Level 1 (3+1 int+1 div): mage armor, color spray, comprehend languages(D), magic missile(x2)
Level 2 (2+1 int+1 div): invisibility, detect thoughts(D), scorching ray, locate object
Level 3 (1+1 int+1 div): Clairaudience/Clairvoyance(D), Haste(x2)

"That sounds great. I can help look for tracks. I've tracked a few beasties in my day. Mister Charlarn, what spells have you found useful? On our previous adventure, Miss Katherine had a most wonderful wand to aid in healing. Do you have such a wand? Also, I'm sure Mongrel with bless us in our fight."

OOC:
Spells prepared unless someone has a different suggestion:
0 (DC 12): Detect Magic, Light(2), Guidance
1 (DC 13): Bless, Protection from Evil (x2)
2 (DC 14): Silence, Spiritual Weapon
Domain:
1 (DC 13): Longstrider (in wilderness), Disguise Self (in cities)
2 (DC 14): Invisibility(prepared), Locate object
I'm afraid Planus doesn't have much for dealing with trolls. He'll cast bless at the beginning and Protection from Evil on the fighters. Hopefully we will be on dry land and he can plunk away with arrows.

Edit: Planus had his full spells ready so everyone should probably be at full health.

"Sounds like a plan to me," Jack agrees, "Doesn't seem there's much use wasting time with the mermen anyway... Let's go get the job done."

"Hey guys... Someone's got a fire burning up there on the mountainside," Jack points out. "Probably a cooking fire, by the looks of it."

"You want me to go take a look?"
