Really? I will have to look that up!

Yup, every patron spells description states that the warlocks otherworldly patron allows the warlock to chosoe spells from an expanded list and the patron spells are added to the warlocks spell list.

People tend to think that they world like domain/oath/land spells, but in reality the wording makes it rather clear. The domain type additional spells are all described as being always prepared and not counting against the total of spells you can prepare. Warlock isn't a preparation based caster, but the wording is clear, it states that the spells are added to Warlocks list. Otherwise the text would be in following form: the patron spells are always considered known to you and don't count against the total of spells known.

A lot of people are still misreading how patron spells work, i think its like in Top 5 rules mistakes people tend to make :P

I made that mistake not due to misreading it, but by not reading it and just assuming. I think there were posts on this forum or the old WotC forums that clued me in to that fact that Warlocks just have an expanded spell list.

I have to agree that "misreading" isn't the right word here.

The issue with patron spells that the game as three classes that get a really similar mechanic and warlock that is later in the book has something that at first glance is so damn similar, that most DM's and players assume it works the same thing.
