A different kind of campaign...

Thought about it. Worked on it. Did it. Result is in my sig. The end result is buckets of fun, though for the moment I'm utilizing warlocks and invoking hexblades in place of incarnum (only had brief exposure to incarnum so far).

The only thing still being tinkered with mechanically is what should turn out to be a heavily modified version of incarnum magic made into "spirit channeling". Still plenty of fluff work being done for the game.

I would do it in some exotic setting and with exotic character races.

Yes, that's the way I'd like it as well. Perhaps with no standard races (possibly excepting humans), or with only tweaked versions.

That would be cool, but I'd use Psychic's Handbook rules from Green Ronin instead of the other psionic books.

I would use a combination of the GR's PH and the wardens from Second World. I find the only weakness of the latter is the absence of healing and that is a power for psychics.

It could be fun for a one-shot or several-shot. I think the trick would be make the Psionic healer a bit different than a "cleric in robes", aka funny-suit/dress syndrome.

Excuse the ignorant, but what exactly is Icarnum magic?

I knew it was a new book, but Wizards releases usually miss my radar.

Eeek! From the Wizards exerpt:

With this book, player characters can meld incarnum -- the power of souls living, dead, and unborn -- into magic items and even their own bodies, granting them special attacks, defenses, and other abilities

A somewhat disturbing idea. I had a similar idea where a alchemical/magic component powers firearms and other "tech" such as clockwork creatures (I had planned to use Mechamancy).
