A Game of Thrones (any DM's interested?)

Lobo Lurker

First Post
I just picked up the d20 version at DriveThruPG and I have to say it looks really neat.

Anyone else interested in playing this? I'd DM but I'm TERRIBLE at coming up with ideas for intrigue based games.

I would be willing to play, however, as I adore the books and always thought it'd make a great, though difficult, setting for an rpg.

Anyone else interested?

I'd be interested in such a game, possibly even in DMing it. I think the problem might be that not many people actually have the PDF and might not be willing to buy a PDF when they can wait a couple of months for the actual book.

Hot Diggedy! I knew that these novels would have enough fans to scare up some participants. :D

Yeah, I figured I was jumping the gun a bit, but as I have the PDF (I imagine that the book will be GORGEOUS if it's in full color like the PDF is. It's not really my style of art, but it fits in with the design of the book. I didn't notice any typos either, which was nice (though I'm sure there are a few).

Well, I guess I just subscribe to this thread and wait for a DM to come along, or for you to scramble up a game in your griddle, Toric.

What sort of game would you all be interested in?

Me? Something in Westeros (maybe something at the Wall if the dm wanted to go the more supernatural route). I wouldn't mind trying my hand at courtly intrigues, but I wouldn't want the game to stay there indefinately, I'm too much of a hack'n'slasher to avoid combat entirely (though I'm having a great time in the Planescape PbP game I'm in on these boards... it's been months and no one's even cast any spells or drawn a weapon. Very fun (and different) experience.

Hopefully a brave DM will step up soon. :)

Some courtly intrigues might be fun mixed with plenty of opportunities for action. The "Noble House" format would work for that I think, where the PCs are members of a specific house and all have various functions and duties for that house. Plenty of opportunity for adventures of all sorts there. I particularly like the North of Westeros with its wide open, frontier feeling.

I would also be interested in joining this game, if it happens. I have the pdf but haven't had the time to read through much of it yet.

I love the books, and I've ordered the deluxe (fake)-leather covered edition. I don't know how long it'll take for me to get the book, but it'll be worth the wait.

Anyway, if this game ever happens i'd love to be in it.
