A Gaming Table My Wife Will Let Me Have

You know she only said you could have it because she knows it probably won't happen, don't you? ;)

Women are like that... :)

She also knows I'm in the habit of squirreling away cash from each and every paycheck to devote towards my gaming habit.

My problem is, she'll notice it if I squirrel away a couple hundred dollars ever week...

Hmmmmmmm....

There must be a way around this.

The problem is, you'd need to buy a new house to keep it in, preferably one with a dedicated library and its own collection of leather-bound books.

I've got the space. The problem is I'll have to finish the basement and that'll cost more than the table will!

I checked it out at GenCon and I can't argue that it certainly was pretty. However, I can't help feeling that for the money you could probably spec it to a carpenter and have it built to order. Probably less, and not have to worry about shipping.

I think the Sultan is almost too nice to game on. I mean, if I owned it, I'd totally freak out if some drink got spilled on it.

But yes, its looks really nice.

People! It's waxed - it doesn't matter if some clutz spills something on it. Be quick about wiping it away and it's not a problem. Only place where soda is a problem is in the dice tray, but that felt can be removed and washed, so the problem is once again easily solvable.

Man, 10K might be a lot of money, but we spend a lot more money on making our home look nice in a year. I'll just talk to the wife about it - she JUST agreed we could turn our cellar gaming den-table into a "real" gaming table with grid and all. :D

Dear god is that thing beautiful... However, as has been said there is no way that I could see my way to paying $10K for something like that. Especially when it is so easy to find great gaming table plans on-line and build one yourself. Won't look as nice but can be just as functional.

Got any links to plans? That's what I was searching for when I happened upon The Sultan.
