Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking here in terms of creatures with long tentacles or vines etc. Let's say they have their target grappled. To maintain the grapple for the next round, they have to move into the same square as their target - the movement being at no cost but incurring AoO.
However, surely a creature with either tentacles or something like the assassin vine would be able to maintain the grapple without being forced to move into the opponents square. Particularly for example with the assassin vine which has very limited mobility (5ft.)compared to its dramatic 20ft. reach. The rules however seem to say different.
Can someone help me here in understanding this particular aspect. I thought the improved grab ability might help but it only mentions establishing a hold, not maintaining a grapple.
Best Regards
