Pathfinder 1E A gripey letter to Paizo

Between four to six of your issues are lost per year?

What really surprises me about this thread is that a company *would* be so generous to send-out 4-6 replacement copies. I would've guessed that any magazine-company would assume I was scamming them and selling the extra copies after the 2nd or 3rd call to customer surface per year.

Heck, the odds of the USPS randomly losing even 3 copies in mail per year must be astronomically high.

Yet you receieved 4-6 replacement copies in twelve months. I'm stunned. If I was in charge, free replacements would stop after #2.

Tony

Guess I won't be subscribing to anything from you in the future.

Don't get me wrong. Up until this last missive from Paizo's Customer Support things were pretty groovy. They've always been helpful and cooperative, replacing the lost issues (which, I say again, I am NOT the only person who has this problem). But to tell me no more, it's too bad you don't get the item you subscribe to but we're not going to honor that subscription is a bit too much by not giving you the item you've already paid for is too much.

There is always the option of reporting Paizo to the Better Business Bureau. They might help in resolving the issue.

Just back from the Post Office, and Dungeon 126 finally arrived. I take back all the mean things I said (and the even more mean things I thought). Off to read some more Age of Worms goodness. :D

It shows up 14 days after announcement of shipping. Hmm.

#126: Paizo announces it shipped July 19. Today it's August 6. I make that 18 days. It's due on the stands on Tuesday.

And I *still* don't have it.
Wow. Considering it's being delivered to a Canadian address, you've been really lucky. I wouldn't hold your breath for any of that to happen again. It seems to be 'normalizing' now.

On average, mine shows up about 3-5 days past the 'newsstand' date. And I'm fine with that, considering I'm across the border.

From what I've read about people having probs with their subscriptions is the main reason why I won't sub to Dragon magazine. I have better luck getting them from my local Barnes & Noble store. Sure I pay more but I get the mags when *I* want them, not when they feel like showing up in my mailbox.

DM Cal - While I know you're positive it's not your post office, it still might be worthwhile (since you're not getting the magazines anyways), to send them somewhere -else-. The PO and your home mail both go through the same office; do you have friends or family nearby but in a different town that you could have the magazines sent to? That'd at least prove something.

Cheers
Nell.

Happened to me as well. And a friend of mine. Apparently the postal workers here in Sweden are big fans of Dragon and Dungeon.

To Paizo's credit they were very helpful and understanding, and eventually refunded me my money as I cancelled the subscription. They were friendly and courteous.

Have been picking the mag up from the FLGS since then. Love the mag, a bummer I can't subscribe. ;)

Cheers!

I wonder if it would cost them anything extra to package the magazines in opaque wrappers with only the Paizo mark on them, rather than Dungeon or Dragon. It might reduce thefts.

My wife told me to send them to her (we're separated). If #335 doesn't show up this month, that's what I plan to do. She has a different post office than I.

ACK! Don’t be hasty. If I was boss of Paizo, yeh, I’d stop sending replacements after sending 2 per year. But that’s only because Paizo has a computer print their labels from a database, and that technology seems pretty foolproof. (Sure, the sheets of label paper could be loaded upside-down in the printer, but who would do that?)

So please remain open to subscribing to my periodical, should I ever produce one. There would be no limitation on the number of my replacement copies.

I would accept all blame for missing issues, because I recognize that mistakes will happen when you address all labels with an inkpen while half-watching tv.

Also note that since my magazine would essentially be a log of my dreams, with an occasional recipe featuring mushrooms, a missed issue might not bother you much.

:)

PS: Awesome that your separated spouse is nice like that.
