A map I worked up that I'm proud of

great stuff, kluge!

curious as to how you added those gridlines - they look great. mine always seem to, well, stink.

cheers,

Destan, the grid lines were the easy part.

What I did was made the image itself divisible by some even number, like 400 pixels wide. I don't know what it actually is in this case, but let's just use that as an example. Do the same for the height - something evenly divisible like 200.

Then, you can make squares 20x20 and you can evenly distribute them across the surface of the picture. I created a new paint picture, and *just* drew the gridlines. Light gray works well for the color. Then I drew in the little scale thingy.

Lastly, I just highlighted the entire thing, and then just laid it on top of my map. That was it.

Solid.

Kluge, I use 'Paintshop Pro' to do whatever it is I try to do with graphics. Did you use that program, or are you familiar with it? I'm unsure how to get a "layer" so that I could lay down a grid map on top of another image.

Regardless, thanks for the info. Great map, again.

Destan, no I just use good ol' fashioned Windows Paint. I did all that in Paint.

Paint has overlay (xor for the technical types) features. The buttons are on the bottom of the toolbar on the left side. You can use that to lay the grid over a picture without overwriting the picture with whitespace.
