A Paid Trip to Spellhold [D&D 4e]

Kaedyn winces at the cuts he has taken in the battle and uses some unsoiled cloth from the dead to stop the bleeding and wipe away the spittle from the now dead tyrant, "Good riddance, I say. "

He silently watches as the large minotaur man begins taking care of the former captain and Kaedyn helps dispose of the rubbish as well. he searches the dwarf making a pile of anything valuable and worth keeping before dumping the runt's corpse after the captain's, "May you lie together with your master, fornicating in hell for eternity!" He gives Asterion a wry smirk, satisfied that both of the bastards are bound to be eaten by creatures of the sea. He comments, "I am sorry you did not trust me enough to include me in this venture from the beginning, but at least it has worked out so far."

Asterion smiles at Kaedyn.

"I still don't trust you, but if you stay with us, perhaps that'll change. This ship is going to need officers and crew when this is over, after all."

Asterion looks to his other friends.

"What was it that you found in that locked room while we were below deck?"

OOC: I didn't think to ask this during the combat. Was the mysterious archer the man Lochlan has been searching for or is he still at large?

Hope you didn't need him for questioning, then. If you need a head for bounty we might be able to retrieve part of him if we're quick. He's about a quarter mile behind us by now.

Asterion smiles at Kaedyn.
"I still don't trust you, but if you stay with us, perhaps that'll change. This ship is going to need officers and crew when this is over, after all."
Kaedyn nods at the praticality of the statement, "I understand. I am troubled that I let myself be put into this predicament. Had I only known there were others like-minded, I could have acted without fear. As you can see from my participation in this fight I was barely able to give as much as I received. Standing alone I would have died fairly quickly I am sure. "

<<OOC: There was some searches of bodies from before that are awaiting results.>>

Cliff enters Kumar's cabin. First, he can't see much, but after lighting a torch, the sees the place under the orange and faint light of the fire. The place is a mess, a table full of cartography maps, calculations, notes written hastily, a registry book, a bottle of ron half empty; a bed devoid of any decoration, recently used by Kumar, and a cabinet. Cliff feels attracted to the furniture more than he should. Another flash of memory struck him. A fragment of his last dream, when he was sneaking inside the dark room. He sees from his former self's eyes, as he enters this same room. Kumar is not in his bed, but the room is in as much disrepair. Cliff sees his sturdy grey hands opening the cabinet, and making the stuff aside, to open a secret compartment. Inside it there's a strange looking device. A golden disc, with runes and inscriptions, that sheds light of it's own. It has also several gems attached to it. Suddenly, you turn and see Kumar's face, full of anger and hatred. He plunges his huge sword into you, and your vision blackens, bringing you back to reality. Knowing what to do, Cliff opens the cabinet, throws away everything in it, and finds the secret door. And there it is, the strange golden disc. The shifter doesn't know why, but he feels strongly attached to this object, as if were part of himself, lost and found again.

Mean while the remaining heroes search the corpses and the vault of treasure and find lots of valuables to divide among themselves.

Once the group is gathered, the locked room is opened. Asterion is taken aback for a moment of nostalgia, as he beholds his mentor's room, his hammer, armor and other belongings. There's also his diary...
Chizz tinkers with the huge chest in the room and finally picks the lock successfully. Breaking or hacking anything would not be a smart move with the minotaur around, the half orc thought.

[sblock=Asterion's level-up]
These updates are reflected in my entry in the RG, but I figured I'd post them here for convenience sake.

Stat boosts go to Str & Con, feat taken is Heavy Shield Proficiency.[/sblock]

Asterion stares in awe at his master's gear. Not even noticing the other pieces of equipment, he lifts the heavy shield.

"My friends, I care not for rank or reward, but it would fill me with honor to wield the hammer, armor, and shield of my master. I would happily turn down any other boon, so long as I could be privileged to carry these."

While waiting for a response, Asterion caresses the bound cover of Boulder's diary, fearing the nature of its contents, and perhaps unsure of his place among these people.

Somewhere in this time of little activity, the fighter catches his breath witha short rest to return to fighting trim.

Kaedyn nods in agreement with Taran,
"No argument here."

"I am not very well acquainted with many of you, and for the most part have been ignored. But the items of note that I am mainly interested in are Kumar's Glass Eye and the dwarf's Gauntlets of Blood. And my share of the gold if I am allowed any."

The fighter, fearing he has spoken too much, stands off to the side in the corner to await the decision.

[sblock=OOC]Question, does +1 Enchantment to Saves stack from multiple items? Not sure I can use the Lucky Charm or not, already have a neck item.
Also I Leveled up on my Myth-Weavers sheet. Took +1 Str/Dex and Powerful Charge Feat.
Took 2 Healing Surges to restore HP to max as well.[/sblock]
