Secret Level, a new TV show coming to Amazon, is an anthology animated series which features various video games--and one or two tabletop games! While Dungeons & Dragons doesn't get much of a mention in the article, there is a screenshot which shows Tiamat.

The show features 15 different IPs--mainly video games--and launches on December 10th on Amazon Prime.

Other properties showcased include Pac-Man, Mega Man, Spelunky, Sifu, Amored Core, The Outer Worlds, Exodus, and Warhammer.

No, we just saw some figures in armour brute-forcing their way though opposition that posed no challenge whatsoever for no apparent reason.

I expect you think the humans in Starship Troopers are the good guys too.

The trouble with satire is the target is oblivious.
You'll see what you want to see I guess.

Nope.

Black comedy and satire are two different things. This episode was neither so your point is irrelevant.

O The spell effects were pretty accurate and recognizable (except for the big flamethrower spell used by the mage). Polymorphing the lich was goofy, broke immersion in the scene.
Pretty sure the 'flamethrower' was a wall of fire. What about the polymorph broke immersion? Because they chose a snail?

That’s not how I ever pictured Wall of Fire. I was thinking it was either Aganazzar’s Scorcher or some elevated Burning Hands. I was never quite sure if Tally was a Sorcerer (using Metamagic) or a Wizard or Pact of the Tome Warlock (due to the book).

The show likely thought it would be "cute" to turn the evil lich into a snail rather than destroy him with a much more flashy spell. That scene was supposed to be high tension, with people being killed left and right, and then BOOP, awww, look at the cute snail.

The only one who got any kind of exposition was the goliath. The other 4 were barely shown outside of the bridge combat. I can't even remember what they looked like beyond the freakishly large head of the gnome.

Not sure if you are familiar with WH40k lore then. Titus is kind of a big deal in that universe.

There Halfling and cleric had some character development as well, the rest were just there to fill the party out and do cool stuff. It was a a very shirt video, so character time was in short supply.

I don't personally find snails cute, but that is totally what my D&D group would do. I mean it would have taken a lot longer take care of the lich with any other spell so it was the smart move (if it succeeds).

What is interesting to me is the characters must be higher level than I initially assumed if they are turning a lich into a snail.

This is exactly how the Polymorph user in my party behaves, so I thought it was very realistic.
