Two Words:
Celestial. Wedgie.
In my Wed game (ran for 2+ years now), every player but 1 is now Divine Rank 0 or better.
The bard had been trying to become a god since level 6, she finally managed to convince enough creatures that she's a god (little G). Of course, the creature's involved were Kobolds (kutlemak? doesn't exist in my world). So she's now the Kobold god. Not what she was going for, I believe she was more interested in HIGH LORD OF ALL CREATION, but she'll take what she can get.
As for the Minotaur Cleric (think Roman-society, not Maze bound monsters), His god lifted him up to godhood. The cleric was a prime example of the military might of the minotaur empire. Proud, stong, martial, and unswerving loyal. So one morning around 25th level as he's praying for his spells, he gets a message form his god. "Sorry about this". Minotaur then gains Divine rank 1 & 3,000 pounds. See the God used to be LE & during that time he had a DR 1 Patron Saint of Gluttony. Now the god's LN & the Saint of Gluttony really starting to anger him. So the god fires him & looks for a replacement, one who'll turn the gluttony aspect into a more bountiful harvest sort of thing. And he only has one resume on file. Thus the minotaur cleric became 'demi-god of gluttony' He now appear as the most obese minotaur ever. (think Bender when he became flesh on the What-if episode of Futurama).
Now, he's trying to shift his followers attitude while trying to shed a few tons.
