Verrick breaths deeply

Verrick approachs the nearest watchman, and intentionly bumps into him.

What's going on here?, Verrick asks the watchman taking care to share his alcohol laden breath.

If Verrick receives an appropriately negative response, he will take off running in the direction where he sees the rest of his group. If anyone besides Lookspring chases after him, Verrick will veer off into a side alley before reaching the rest.

If there is no pursuit, Verrick will run past his group's position and take up a station some place ahead of them

Pinkie, having stepped back to avoid the vomit, again moves forward to console Uggla...

There, there...get it all out now...

Then whispering to Pheonix....

Don't look back Red, but we got a tail and it ain't just Ray either.....
 

Awww, crap and fall back in it....

This guy thinks he's good huh....we'll see about that....


Ray decides to stay hidden until the person gets within 30' (for sneak attack) then he will attack from the shadows with his crossbow...

( Attack = 22 / Damage = 7 + 6 ) total = 13hp in the one shot )


Ray's thoughts....If he kills the guy outright that's two hits two kills in less than 20 minutes...his mood is about to go a little hostile. He is not opposed to killing and 100gp per body is good money but he will take the attitude that there has to be more to this than they are being told...someone wants this guy, enough to kill (or rather) to die or order people to die for whatever he is hiding. Perhaps he should have a straight talk with their employer...business is business but damn, this had better be legit...

The watchman turns his head and tells Verrick Get out of my face before I run you in.

Verrick then breaks into a run to catch up to the rest of the group.

The guard motions to him and the others laugh at seeing Verrick break into a run after so slight a threat.



Ray fires a bolt at the groups stalker and sees him fall to the ground.

Pinkie draws Phoenix's attention just in time for the two of them to see the man fall to the ground.


As pinkie turns back around she sees an attacker charging her. The assailant strikes a glancing blow (5pts non lethal)

Similarly Phoenix turns to see 2 attackers charging toward her. The first scores a hit (2 nonlethal). As they charge Phoenix drops Uggla unceremoniously to the road and the second attacker trips over Uggla and sprawls face first into the ground.

ooc: Is Lookspring running with Verrick?
 

Seeing Verrick take off, Lookspring hurries after him as fast as his short legs will carry him. All the while he curses aloud in his native tongue at the long legged races and the need to be in a hurry all the time.
 

Verrick runs

Barring anything else, Verrick will continue running until he catches up to his traveling companions and can take up a position ahead of them.
 


(OOC: Making the assumption Ray can see the main body...)

Ray sees the assault on Pinkie....

He moves to close the distance between himself and the man who attacked Pinkie...

(OOC: He will move, ideally close enough to get physically between Pinkie and her attacker but he will not move so far that he no longer is able to attack. i.e. if he can move the 20' and get in between the two and make the shot he will however, if he would have to move more than 20' he'll just take his shot instead.)

He attacks when the opportunity presents itself...( ATK = 23 / DMG = 7 )

(OOC: Ray is gonna die soon...he is cursed somehow all the friggin attack rolls are waaaayyyy unusual for me, can't last...3 shots in game all in the 20+ range My LEW sorcerer seems to roll no higher than 10 on a regular basis - LOL!)
 

Pinkie's head reels from attack she just took...

She feels the effect of the blow, and starts to panic a little patting and looking for the signs of blood...she lets out a sigh as she realizes that she's not bleeding anywhere - it must just be luck she thinks.

Quickly she moves back 10' and lets a bolt fly at her attacker....( ATK = 14 / DMG = 3 ) obviously shaken her shot does not reflect the hours of training she received from Ray....
 

If Lookspring makes it to the fight before it's over...

When Lookspring comes in view of the fight he stops and hisses aloud. I never should have gone back for the drunk! I knew they'd get in trouble! He quickly unslings his bow and draws back an arrow. He hesitates, looking for an opening until he spots what he's looking for. There, the one near Uggla. Better take him out before he damages our prize! His bow string twangs as the arrow leaps free...
