A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

"You can't escape, frog!" cries Jax as the bullywug hops away. Not one to be outmaneuvered, the kobold circles around the reach of the mucker's javelin, hops onto the muddy part of the floor, and makes a final triumphant leap to get to the frog's backside. Jax lands with a low splashing noise, part of the noise coming from the mud and the rest from his dagger slicing into his foe's internal organs.

Dorn continues to send his fiery death forth, incinerating one of the beasts (
Burning Spray kills mucker 78, misses twitch 80
). He then moves to envelop his allies in the protective cover of his shroud (Move to N4, sustain shroud)

OOC: Yay, found a few minutes to post today.

[sblock=R1]Hmm... did I miss an attack somewhere? Jax seems to have lost 9 hp between these rounds, but I don't see any of the frogs hitting him.

Also, this post reserved for my next turn.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]
No, I screwed up. I initially had the bullywug move to a spot to be only adjacent to you (and away from Crag), but then I noticed that it's difficult terrain and forgot to correct my summary.[/sblock]

Ingot shakes its head a couple of times, and activates its internal diagnostic and repair sequence. OOC: Minor: Warforged resolve, Ingot heals 4 hp, gains 4 temp hp.

It hacks at the remaining bullywug and connects, nearly - but not quite - slaying the creature. Vulkar's hammer hangs in Rrek's vision to guide his next strike. OOC: Righteous Brand vs. Twitcher 80, hit for 9. 2 hp left! Rrek gains +4 power bonus to melee attacks against the twitcher TENT Ingot.

Jax's lightning quick movement and quicker attack left Crag with the perfect opening! Slashing his blade at shoulder height, Crag swiftly takes the head from the shoulders of the bulbous creature before him. The liberated head splashes into the mud and Terra pulls the muck onto Crags body once more and hardens it. Hearing the battle on the other side of the wall, Crag charges into the next room, headless of the easy target he was making of himself, and grabs the attention of the creature in front of Rrek.

"Sorry it took so long to get over here, Rrek! We had a few troubles over on the other side, but Jax took care of it for us!"

[sblock=Actions]
-Standard: Crag uses Earth Shield Strike and hits AC 20 for 7 damage. If I read everything right, that SHOULD kill the creature (after Jax nasty 22 damage, go Jax!). Either way, Crag keeps the +1 power bonus to AC going.

-Move: Run action. This increases Crags speed from 6 to 8, but he grants combat advantage until the beginning of his next turn. He also gains a -5 penalty to attack rolls until the beginning of his next turn. He moves from M7 > N7 > O7 > O6 > N5 > M4 > M3.

Encounter Powers: Hungry Earth, Warforged Resolve

Note on Warden's Fury and Warden's Grasp:

Warden's Fury gives me a free attack against any of my marked foes adjacent to me that attack any of my allies
(as an Immediate Interupt). If it hits, it does my normal basic attack damage, but it also makes the target
grant combat advantage until the end of my next turn.

Warden's Grasp lets me slide any of my marked foes within 5 squares of me that attack any of my allies. The
slide is one square and it also slows them and doesn't allow them to shift until the end of it's turn (this is
an Immediate Reaction). [/sblock]

[sblock=Reklaw]No worries... but I think you're up now, Ingot gave you +4 to hit and the last bad guy only has 2 hp left, so go head and roll some dice and finish the battle already! :)[/sblock]

Rrek's blade moves faster than the eye can follow, lightning crackling in its trail, the stink of ozone filling the air.

His blade stops a hairs length from the remaining Bullywug, but the lightning and thunder continues, crushing the frog-like creatures body into the ground before the lightning arcs across it's body.

The creature explodes as the the thunder echoes across the ruins, pieces of foul-smelling corpse flying through the air.

A gore-covered Rrek grins widely, "Looks like that's the last of them..."

[sblock=Actions]Attack with Booming Blade = [20,12] = (32) CRIT!
Max damage of 13[/sblock]

Crag wipes a few pieces of bullywug off of his chassis and then looks at the gith.

"Are you all right, Rrek? It looks like you took a beating. I think maybe next time we should stick together and force the enemy to follow us."

[sblock=OOC] I'm not one to tell someone how to play their character, but I have played a shielding swordmage before and I have one tip for you. When you mark something, try to move away from it. That will do one of two things. It will cause the creature to have to decide between following you around the battlefield so that it can attack without penalties, or it will take a penalty to attacks AND will lose a significant portion of its attack power when you use your Aegis of Shielding interrupt power. I find that unlike other defender classes, the shielding swordmage is actually MORE productive when the badguy he marks ISN'T attacking him. Plus, Rrek may be a defender, but he certainly doesn't have Crag's hit points, lol. It probably would have been better if we had been on opposite sides of the battle, with Crag being surrounded by all the baddies, and Rrek helping out Jax with the 2 or three enemies on the other side. We'll have to work on that, get our communication down a bit better. We did a great job, I just see a bit of room for improvment, and I'd like to see you not get downed every battle ;)

Again, not telling you how to play your character, just some ideas and tips. [/sblock]

[sblock=No worries]Not one to take offense to advice;) That definitely sounds good, plus with my mobility powers I think you're right about helping more with Jax while you take on the mobs of enemies. Definitely more of a warden specialty. Thanks Kal![/sblock]
