A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

[sblock=ooc]I agree with Kalidrev's strategy ideas... though in this case, at the time that we split, it wasn't clear that the mass of enemies was going to come to the left side, was it? But maybe we should consider Rrek + Jax as a good combo.

Where we go from here... is it too soon for an extended rest? Jax is out of surges, though I think the rest of us are in decent shape.[/sblock]

Ingot immediately produces a cloth and begins wiping down its blade. It looks over its companions. "Is everyone in good repair?"

Jax holds up his dagger, now dripping with frog juice, and frowns. He mumbles, "It's not shiny anymore..." He then kneels and wipes the dagger into the mud a few times.

"I'm okay. A little winded. Too much running around, yes? But I'm ready for more dragons!"

[sblock=ooc]No need to rest on my account. All of the surge-spending occurred in the dragon fight anyway; I only spent 1 with the frogs. If it really looks like he's in danger, Jax can always fall back on his crossbow skills.

And I agree, rogue + swordmage is probably a better combination for lone enemies than rogue + warden.[/sblock]

[sblock=Nice Work!]
Dorn wasn't on the receiving end of a single attack!

Dorn can afford to take a few hits next fight, if there is one, especially if it helps keep the heat off of Jax.

[sblock=R1]I was planning on doing the one-time character rebuild for Jax sometime soonish. Since I'm in an adventure, I need your permission for it. If it's okay, when would be good? The next extended rest maybe?
Changes would include rearranging stats to be more str based instead of cha and switching a lot of powers. It also means Jax would get one more healing surge (which is why I think maybe doing it should be done during a rest).[/sblock]

The frog-men fall at the skilled blades and spells of the adventurers. You hear nothing, but see some dim light coming from the open trap door to the northwest, where the bullywug reinforcements came out.

[sblock=Dekana]
I'm cool with it, just wait until the extended rest. It works a bit better IC (after all that beating you took, your body can survive a bit more punishment...or something like that)[/sblock]

Crag walks over to the trap door and lifts it up to take a look down inside.

[sblock=Perception check] Crag rolls an 18 Perception to look for anything of note (such as enemies or traps) down the hole [/sblock]

[sblock=Healing Surges] Crag has only had to spend 1 healing surge so far this adventure. His at-will powers are making the DMs life difficult I think ;) Unfortunately, that just means that either I will continue making his life difficult, or he'll introduce something that is very, very dangerous for the group. We shall have to see. [/sblock]

You don't see any monsters down here. You notice that the mud in the center of the room seems much deeper and stickier than that in the rest of the chamber.

This stone chamber is bathed in a greasy, yellow glow from a pair of smoking braziers in the northwest and southeast corners of the room. The floor is covered in a thick viscous mud that adds a swampy stink to the pungent smoke issuing from the braziers. Toppled tables, bookshelves, and other bits of furniture thrust up from the muck in various places like islands in a muddy sea. There are a pair of double doors that are slightly ajar.[/sblock]

[sblock=Kal]
Don't worry, I'll just keep going after the squishies (shift +charge ;)) :devil:
[/sblock]

Rrek follows behind Crag after checking his wounds that weren't healed by Ingot.

He nods and says, "Thanks for your help" as he passes Ingot.

[sblock=ooc]
Is it one short rest? If so, please let me know # of surges used (if any). Moving right to the trap door?

[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] Yeah, one short rest should be good for me, don't know about the others. I'll have Crag use 1 healing surge, just to top off (not like he doesn't have the surges to spare, lol). So that puts Crag at 12/14 healing surges. [/sblock]
