A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

[sblock=ooc]
Well... I don't think I held back. Dragon's are intelligent and when it has around 20-28 hp left and outta most of it's deadliest tools (breath weapon didn't recharge last turn) the most self-preserving move seemed to be to run.

If Crag had saved at start of turn and Dorn could've blasted it and Finch was unblinded from Ingot's saving throw...it might've died this turn.

I wouldn't pull any punches with a TPK. If you die, well, I always have contingency plans. Just in this instance the dragon didn't have a reason to fight to the death...if it comes back...maybe, although it still failed to get a taste of either kobold or half-orc flesh and it's very disappointed by that :devil:

Frustrated with the lack of foe to finish off, Crag finally manages to shake the dirt out of his eyes. ( End of Turn Save: 14 ) Keeping his sword and shield at the ready, in case the dragon decided it hadn't had enough, he slowly moves near the soon to be water logged kobold and picks him up out of the water.

"I think it's safe to come out friend. Take a breather, you've certainly earned it."

Speaking of earning a rest, none of the warden's companions have ever seen Crag so utterly devastated. His chassis was pocked with small holes and several bundles of woody fiber were ripped to shreds and were poking out of his torso. A dark fluid was slowly beginning to seep out from behind his rocky exterior, and he walked with a sort of gimp due to a shredded leg bundle. After making sure that Jax and the others were all right and did not need immediate medical assistance, he clanked down onto the sodden ground and began to repair himself as best he could.

(ooc: Crag will spend 2 healing surges to bring himself back up to full HP. He is now at 11/14 HS)

The bugbear looks at the motley crew, a pair of warforged, a kobold and a half-orc, and then shrugs, turning back the way he came. "Good to cross paths with ya, too bad it didn't have any gold with it. Ah well, I gotta take care of some stuff. I'll see ya later maybe?" he says as he departs.

You rest up and do what you can to patch yourselves up. The road back to Daunton lies before you.

Reklaw's disappeared so Finch has too. [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] completely reasonable, R1! Maybe he'll be able to catch up to us later, or we can just continue as the 4 of us. Either way is good with me. [/sblock]

So...what's the plan? Back to Daunton? Do you want to recruit 1 more or go with 4? There's a level 1 kobold warlord there that might help out.

[sblock=ooc]Back to Daunton yes... we have nothing else on our agenda. Adding another leader sounds like a great idea as well.

Is this adventure pretty much done or not? It's unclear.

Ingot will also spend surges to get back or close to full... sorry for quick posting, I don't have a lot of time today.[/sblock]

[sblock=Status of Adventure]
The first leg is wrapping up (completed once in Daunton), but I have a sequel/continuation I plan to run that builds on the events of this game. If you want to stick around we'll keep going, if you want to go on another one, that's cool also... I figured get back to Daunton and we'll resolve things + give some time to buy new items (if you want) and then keep it moving[/sblock]

Jax thrashes about at Crag, nearly stabbing him, before realizing that he isn't a dragon. At that point, he settles down and sits on the ground. He replies to Crag in his usual dog-like, barking voice.

"Earned it? Maybe. I see no dead dragon. Anyway, you need to rest more. Look at those holes! And is that blood? Black metal-man blood? That's no good! Ingot, over here!"

Even though he was only sitting for a few moments, Jax hops to his feet and rushes over to Ingot. He gets behind the cleric and starts pushing him toward Crag (or trying to at least).

"Come on, quickly! Patch him up and then we need to go. The dragon could come back! No time to waste!"

[sblock=healing/ooc]May I assume Jax can get a healing word from Ingot? In that case, I spend 1 healing surge to get to full. 6/9 surges remaining.

Yes, back to Daunton since that's our mission. I'd also be happy to have the warlord along.[/sblock]

[sblock=R1] I like leaders! Leaders mean healing! I also like kobolds! I say bring him along! Also, I just want to congratulate you on thoroughly kicking Crag's butt, R1. He's never had such a hard time before, lol. Is Crag just getting to be too predictable, or what? ;) [/sblock]

Crag waves his hand in the air at Jax like he was brushing away some small piece of dirt.

"I'm fine. I just need a moment to put myself back together. Let Ingot use his divine power on those who really need it and then let's get back to Daunton. We have a staff to deliver."

Ingot shakes its head as it realizes that the dragon has escaped, but quickly forgets the disappointment as it circulates, helping the others tend to their wounds.

"Yes, let's rest a while, then deliver the staff. I cannot wait to get back to Daunton and give my chassis a proper scrubbing."

[sblock=ooc]Might as well take multiple rests for as many healing words as we need... not sure it really matters at this point. Ingot uses one healing word to get to Surge with healing word 34/39
HP (6/9 surges).
I'm definitely down for the follow on adventure![/sblock]
