A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

[sblock=strategy]Yeah, going there would let Ingot heal Dorn, which would definitely be a good thing. However, I'm reluctant to move to that spot, because (a) Ingot will take 5 damage from being adjacent to the breath zone, and (b) that'll make an even nicer clump for the dragon to breathe on should his breath recharge.

However, healing Dorn would be really, really good... his turn comes before Ingot's, so he's gonna have to make a death save anyway. Maybe he'll get a 20! So I'll wait until after his turn and see what happens. (I don't want to hold things up - I'll post later today one way or the other.)[/sblock]

[sblock=re:strategy]Ingot won't take damage for moving into a square adjacent to the zone; that damage is for starting in that space, not moving into it. Likewise, he won't take damage on his next turn because the zone will be gone by then.

The dragon's breath weapon could certainly recharge though, so that's reason to be concerned. I still think healing Dorn would be worth it, but it's not my character that would be standing in the breath range. :p[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Bah, ok... I thought the breath zone lasted until the next breath. Still don't like being clumped for the next shot, but at least if it does catch Ingot, Dorn ought to be spared... I'll take the chance.

And sacred flame... hey, if I miss, at least Ingot will take the dragon's interrupt response instead of Jax. :)[/sblock]

Ingot fixes its freshly-burning eyelights on the foe and gestures in its direction. A flame leaps from its chest-mounted symbol towards the dragon. As it grazes the great beast, scattered light leaps towards Jax, giving him another chance to clear his vision.

"Vulkar... please repair Dorn," the warforged prays after it trots to the edge of the swirling sands left by the dragon's breath.

[sblock=Actions]Standard: Sacred Flame (vs Ref) (1d20+4=20) Maybe a hit, it's a miracle! If so... (1d6+3=4) minimum damage (radiant), hoorah... but Jax gets to make a saving throw. (Since Jax already rolled one for his normal end of turn chance, to be fair I think that roll should go to this granted one, and he rolls a new one for end of turn.)

Jax feels some sort of warm power beginning to radiant around him. Fearing it is body heat from the dragon, he slices at the air around him in alarm.

"Aaack, get away you beast!"

The divine energy that Ingot had just generated dissipates.

[sblock=failed save]Make that four in a row! I think I'm going to start a new category in the records hall after this since we only have one for successful saves (5 is the current record).[/sblock]

Crag tries to blink out the sand in his eyes, but the sand swirling around him makes it increasingly difficult for that to happen. Standing still so that the sand did not further shred the fibrous bundles beneath his metal chassis, Crag let the arcane energies deep within him rebuild his body. Keeping his eyes closed for a moment, he lets his body relax and conserves as much of his energy as he could. With his shield, he covers his eyes and he blindly stabs out at the dragon in an attempt to keep its attention. Terra responds by gathering some of the swirling sand around him and creates a strong coating of rock over the warden's chassis. Although shielded with his off handed wooden barrier, Crag's eyes are still pummeled with sand and it keeps everything as a dark smear of unrecognizable color.

"Ahhhhgh! Jax, stab that stupid dragon in the throat already! I'm getting tired of it breathing this burning sand on us!"

- Font of Life save vs Blind: 1d20=8 (fail!)

- Minor: Warforged Resolve: Crag gains 4 HP and 9 temporary hit points.

- Standard: Second Wind: Crag spends a healing surge and gains 14 HP, putting him exactly at his bloodied value (frown, lol) of 28. He gains +2 to all defenses until the end of his next turn. Using second wind activates Crag's Earthstrength, which gives him an additional +5 AC (boosting it to 29).

- Free: Mark Dragon.

- End of round Save vs Blind: End of Round save vs blind. (1d20=5) (arg! that fails too!... saving throws are not our strong suit in this battle, are they? lol)

Dorn's shroud falls as the dragon lays him low, revealing just how small the young half-orc really is.

Finch moves across from the dragon and attacks, stabbing the beast with his sword and twisting it, he attacks again, but it misses.

vs ac; dmg (1d20 13=22, 1d8 7=13, 1d20 13=14, 1d8 7=13) uses AP for 2 MBA's... 1 hit for 13[/sblock]

The dragon once again turns into a cloud of sand, slamming into the three close adventurer's leaving you blinded.

You all hear a great digging sound from the northeast, but can't see what's happening.

More than any other kind of dragon, brown dragons are driven nearly as much by the desire to discover new tastes as by the need to accumulate a hoard. They so love eating that they sometimes take risks in combat merely to “sample” one or more of their foes. Thus, a brown dragon might take a bite instead of making a more tactically advantageous attack for the chance to taste an enemy, especially a creature it has not previously encountered.
Brown dragons prize elf flesh for its succulence and tenderness, and least prefer dwarves, whose tough meat they consider unpalatable unless it is aged

[sblock=Nature DC 20]
A brown dragon’s breath weapon is a blast of supernaturally hot and stinging sand that corrodes flesh and blocks all visibility

[sblock=Nature DC 25]
A brown dragon makes its lair under the sands, in a hollow within a ruin, a cave, or a similar structure. A lair can consist of several such chambers, each one an island of air surrounded by an ocean of smothering sand. A brown dragon doesn’t need tunnels—it can burrow between the rooms of its lair without difficulty.[/sblock][/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]We are all blinded now? This is absurd.

I guess we might as well all try Heal checks on each other for extra saves...[/sblock]
