A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

Dorn pushes himself to his feet (Stand) Am I dead? he thinks. No, just blind. Ingot must have saved the day. Again. He tries to sturdy himself, willing himself to be tough like the half-orcs who teased him to no end at home. (2nd wind heals 8). At last he finds he can see again (Made save), but can tell his comrades are still blinded.

"Wait - where did the dragon go?" Dorn shouts.

[sblock=Ren] You had my HP listed as 14/56 +9 THP, but I should have had 28/56 +9 THP. After the dragon's attack, Crag should now be at 28/56 +1 THP. [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]I assume a Heal check while blind is okay? It's a little cheesy, but... an attack that blinds everyone with no attack roll is cheesy. :)[/sblock]

Ingot claps its hands to its face as the dragon-cloud passes by, but it is no use. Once again its eyelights go dark. Feeling to its left where the mysterious bugbear was standing, the warforged grasps his shoulders and gives him a quick shake, hoping to help dislodge the sand from his eyes. Then, obeying Dorn's instructions, it walks away from its companions, shaking its head briskly. Sand sprays from its face, and its eyelights flicker to life.

As Dorn's eyesight returns, he sees the carnage the dragon wrought

[sblock=Dorn]
The dragon appears to have burrowed under ground about ten feet from Ingot. [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]
Yeah I didn't update the summary as I was in a rush, but it doesn't really matter. The dragon was close to death anyways so yeah fight's over :)

Well done.

When Finch's eyesight returns he looks around "Oh, wow, what did you guys do to piss that thing off?" he asks.

[sblock=booooo!] Now we can't call ourselves Dragon Slayers! We're still relegated to being Wyrmling Slayers! Booooo! ;) Oh well... at least we have another full battle of brown dragon goodness waiting for us in the future.... wait, WHAT AM I SAYING!? That sucks! ;)[/sblock]

Yeah...all those blindness effects were starting to be a PITA rather than a real challenge. I find PbP is pretty difficult as my evil dm toolbox doesn't' work well here as status effects are my bread and butter (see Fey Ring for my daze-ariffic final battle) as the PC's lose their turns and that sucks to lose your turn... I'll see what i can do as we continue so it's not so frustrating [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] The blindness wasn't so bad for me, but I'm pretty darned biased due to my Font of Life feature, lol. Here's the real question that I have though, Ren...

If we would have continued the battle and you hadn't held back at all... would this have been a TPK? Is there any real way we could have won that battle without it fleeing like it did? [/sblock]

Upon hearing the burrowing sound, Jax figures it could be produced by one of two things: either the dragon is going underground, or something new is coming out of the ground. Either way, the kobold turns about face and dives into the pond again. This time, the grit from his eyes is cleared away by the water.

He remains underwater, holding his breath, until the danger passes.

[sblock=saving throw]Succeeds after the battle is over of course. In four rounds of blindness, Jax could easily have put out 70ish damage.[/sblock]
