A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

Dorn holds up his hands. "Wait... there is something... not right here." Dorn squints at the house.

"I can feel something... a lie. Something lying to my eyes, my senses. There is something illusory, not quite real about this house... And there is definitely some arcane power inside. Perhaps several sources of power."

"We must proceed very carefully, friends."

Crag looks around the area for a good place for the less stealthy to hide while the kobolds made an informational scouting trip inside the "house".

[sblock=ooc] Crag rolls a
15 perception. [/sblock]

[sblock=illusions]I'm away from books at the moment. Is there some easy way to see through the illusion now that we know it's there? Arcana, Perception, saving throw, I dunno.[/sblock]

Meepo weighed the options and the information about the magical nature of the house. "If it's an illusion, it might only be visual. Also, it would probably be easier just to magic the outside of the place instead of having the whole inside magiced too, right Dorn? Maybe we could just close our eyes and walk through the magicness." Meepo picked up a large stone, ready to throw it at the gate.

"Just sitting here isn't enough. I'll go in to have a look. I'm sure the illusion will be clear then."

Jax looks for a point of entry besides the main gates. If he can't find any, well, looks like he'll be scaling the walls.

"I do not know," Dorn admits sheepishly. "My understanding of the arcane is limited at best. I barely understand how my own magic works."

Jax cannot find any other entrance to the area beyond the front gate, so the kobold climbs over the short fence with minimal difficulty.

As Jax swings over the short fence the kobold disappears from sight [/sblock]

As you swing over the fence, the previous image of the building you had has disappeared and in front of you is a large tower, only forty feet away.

A dwarf is in front of you, not more than thirty feat away and next to him is a pair of dog-like creatures made of metal.

"It's about time ya came over, but I gotta ask ya, why didn't ya ring the bell kobold? Me dog's not takin' kindly ta sneaks. Ya got exactly thirty seconds ta be tellin' me why yer here afore I let him off his leash." the dwarf says, himself carrying an assortment of magical devices, staves, scrolls, and potions. [sblock=R1]"30 seconds eh?" Jax reckons it wouldn't take that long to get back over the fence. And he really should be going back. Before that, he decides to at least answer the dwarf.

"I uh, thought it would be good exercise? I need to keep a slim figure!" (bluff 13) He motions at the tower now before him. "Looks like I have the wrong place though! This is supposed to be a mansion. What happened to it?"[/sblock]

"Now, now, ya don't expect me ta believe ya just were jumping over our fence fer cardiovascular fitness reasons do you? Why don't ya be askin' yer friends to join us here and we can git to the bottom of this?" the dwarf asks [/sblock]

"I suppose not! But sure, I'll get the others. The metal-men can answer your questions."

The kobold keeps a sidelong glance on the dog as he steps toward the main gate. "And your doggie will just chip its metal teeth on them... Not that he'll have to! We're all plenty friendly."[/sblock]
A few moments pass before Jax appears on the opposite side of the main gate. He fiddles with it for a few moments before swinging it open.

"Step across the threshold! It looks much different on this side. Like how there's a dwarf mage with a guard dog."
