A Teacher for Laynie: Mystery at the Academy (Part 2)

[Bront]

Vanitri smiles, "I guess that would be best."

Vanitri works on some more of the problems with Misha, trying to focus on what's right over what's wrong.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Whatever Laynie was doing is still a mystery, but with a lot of work and practise problems, they begin to feel as if they have a tenuous grasp on how to solve flow diagrams that are at least similar to those they practised with. They study for hours, long into the night, and Vanitri begins to yawn, exhausted, although Misha shows no signs of being tired. However, she notices him yawning, and looks to him, concerned.*

"Vanitri, are you okay? You don't have to stay up for me. We can stop now...Hey, your roommate still isn't back yet. Do you want to be alone here in the dark, or would you feel more comfortable if I stayed with you?--I can see without any light."

 

[Bront]

Vanitri smiles, "I certaintly won't complain if you wish to stay and keep me warm at night, but I realy should find Laynie. I don't want to burden Lex with her too much."

Vanitri rises and offers his arm to Misha, "Care to join me for a quick walk?"

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Misha nods.*

"Sure."

*They head out together to find Laynie, walking down the hallway of the dormitory to the central area, then going out, up, and around to Lex's room, where the door is closed, but the light from a small candle shines outward. Vanitri remembers that Lex gets extremely upset if Truman or Vanitri bring someone else to her room late at night, as it's likely that both of her selves are in there.*

 

[Bront]

"Wait out here, I don't want to wake anyone up if they're sleeping," Vanitri says.

Vanitri knocks quietly once and then carefully opens the door and slips in.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Vanitri slips inside, where he sees one Lex burning a small scented candle and reading a musty old tome while the other Lex is asleep in bed, with Laynie sleeping peacefully next to her, hugging against her like she often does with Vanitri.*

 

[Bront]

"Is she ok?" Vanitri asks quietly. "I can take her for the night if you wish."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Looks like I'm fine with her, for now. You already have Vreemont to deal with, so I won't make you also have to deal with a cranky little girl who was woken up from her nap," Lex smiles.

(OOC: Looks like Ekilu got in! (I mentioned our lack of healing and unlike with Solara, it worked ))

 

[Bront]

Vanitri chuckles, "Thanks Lex, you're a doll. I hope she wasn't much of a bother."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Well, I wasn't the Lex who had to deal with her, but she's an angel. She loves to read her own books or whatever I'm doing, and she's extremely well-behaved in general. Looks like you're a good foster father for her, 'Uncle Vanitri'."
