A Teacher for Laynie: Mystery at the Academy (Part 2)

[Rystil Arden]

"You mean the missing staff? No faculty members were abducted that I'm aware of. There was nothing they could do. They can't be raised or resurrected, even if the Academy had the money to do that sort of thing on such a scale. They looked through their things, though. And we found out about Tammy Ferrous--apparently she had gone into debt over love potions and beauty salve she had been buying, and she drowned her sorrows in illegal drugs, so now she whores herself out in Medibaria proper for drug money..."

(OOC: Oh, by the way--the adventure name stands for 'Truman Kilner and the Philosopher's Stone of the Opal Princess in the Demesnes of Enigmas')

 

[Bront]

"That why Truman wasn't reacting to hard then? Wasn't a real feeling? Still, a shame though."

"Guess that doesn't leave much else to do. I should probably check with my teachers and see what they want me to do about catching up. That, and maybe a celebratory dinner or something."

"By the way, the healer doesn't have much of a sense of humor does she?"

"Yes, that's right," Elektra agrees, "Really, it's rather pathetic, but she did drug him with love potions, so I don't really feel sorry for her...Alden, however," Lex's eyes become wet with tears, "He was brave...he died to save me..."

"Yes, I'm sure your teachers will want to see you about that. And the Headmaster himself wants to dine with you at a celebratory dinner. That's a great honour. Few among the students even see him these days."

"Not much of a sense of humour. What do you mean? And which one? If it's Agatha, she hasn't been in a good mood since Pyrrha was taken. Agatha always said that Pyrrha would becoem a great priestess some day."

 

[Bront]

Vanitri gives Lex a hug, "Far too many people died because of this. We'll all mourn them in our own way."

"I'd been more thinking of a fine dinner with the two of you, but I guess that works as well. Guess I can't complain too much."

"Ahh, that explains it. She didn't seem to get many of the jokes, but perhaps she just wasn't in a laughing mood."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Well, that doesn't mean we can't have a dinner just the three of us anyway," Lex replies with a wink, "Yeah, I'm thinking she wasn't ready to laugh. That young acolyte was almost like a daughter to her."

 

[Bront]

Vanitri nods, "I'll let you catch up. Mind watching Laynie for a bit? I'm sure she'd love to help you study."

Vanitri will talk to his professors, and see if he spots Misha around.

"Sure, she can stay here as long as she likes," Elektra nods.

*Vanitri can't find Misha anywhere, though being unable to enter her dormitory without sneaking in and/or getting an escort doesn't help. Meanwhile, he meets with his professors. His nicest and least-strict teacher, Professor Dendril, is willing to let him get away with full credit on all the missed assignments for 'The Golden Age of the Medibarian Empire'. Professor Dralkin requires him to get after-class one-on-one tutoring to make up for the mixed lectures for 'Magical Items and Their Use', after which the assignments will be waived. Professor Maldur requires him to complete all the assignments for 'Cantrips and their Applications', though he offers tutoring to help if Vanitri can't do them without the lectures he missed. Finally, for Mysteries of the Six Towers, Professor Alair allows him to waive the missed assignments on the condition that he have dinner with her one night that week in her office and tell the story of what happened.*

 

[Bront]

Vanitri will accept all the grace, including dinner, though he says he's usure exactly when he can do that given that he's likely wanted for several other things as well.

Saddened that he can't find Misha, he'll make a note to look around for her later.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Professor Alair nods in assent.*

"Oh, and I have your test for you. Here you go," she hands it back. Apparently he scored a 71%.

*Vanitri makes a note to look around for Misha later.*

OOC: realy not sure what else to do. I figure he's probably not up to speed yet, though he'll do some studying and catch up with what he can, in the library in case Misha is around. Look for Misha, probably in class, and attend dinners and such.
