A Teacher for Laynie: Mystery at the Academy (Part 2)

(OOC: Hmm? :p His name is Umbryn Albion ;))

*The Headmaster nods.*

"A heroic sentiment, and brave, hmm?"

*There is a knocking at the door.*

"Hrrm...Kharisa would knock louder, Rayne with less time between knocks. Humboldt softer and usually only one...hrrm. Cedric usually uses his right hand. Must've brought his wife this time," he says quietly, then calls out in a loud voice, "Yes, yes. Come in Cedric. You and Adrianna are welcome here."

*Cedric Branwen, Housemaster of Omega, enters the dining room, slight streaks of gray showing in his hair, though the furrow of worry from the incident is mostly gone, a younger woman on his right arm, walking along with him.*

"Hrmm...Vanitri, Cedric and Adrianna. Cedric and Adrianna, Vanitri. Please take seats. The others aren't here yet."

"Ah, here's the man of the hour. Well done Vanitri, my boy," Cedric congratulates, and Adrianna nods in agreement.

"Now, now. Don't downplay it. I couldn't have handled Elayna Valsice myself. Certainly not Elayna Valsice, six giant snakes, and two unholy behemoths, even with students like Planter and Kilner to help with the snakes."

"Rayne was a big help, and Elayna seemed more concerned with the behemoths than anything else once they emerged."

"Ah, I see. I can say one thing for Liore--she can blast things with the best of them," Cedric jokes.

*There is another knocking at the door, this time quicker, with less time between knocks.*

"Hrrm...seems like someone was sneezing. You want to invite her in, Vanitri?"

*Rayne opens the door and enters. She displays no sign of injury or weakness any longer, steely resolve and professional seriousness on her face replacing the peaceful expression and wistful smile Vanitri had seen while she was asleep at the healing ward.*

She bows slightly to the Headmaster, "A pleasure Headmaster Albion," then a nod of professional courtesy for Housemaster Branwen, "And you Cedric. Adrianna as well. And Vanitri of course--it good to see you well."

"Hrmm...Humboldt is always late...Kharisa will be next. Soon we'll all be here. Want to hear about the incident or congratulate the hero, hmm?...Hmm...Rayne, recovered well. How much did you see, hmm?"

"I'm afraid I can't remember. Elektra told me to come down, and we went through the dungeons, and then I remember fighting Elayna Valsice, and then everything went black. I had several unusual dreams, including one where my mother was still alive and tucking me into bed, but I assume those are irrelevant to reality, particularly since we know my mother took her own life years ago."

"Hrrm...yes. Perhaps Kharisa knows more...Already talked to her, but maybe not the right questions...hmm..."

*There is a loud insistent knocking, as the Headmaster nods and smiles knowingly.*

"Hmm...a perfect segue. What a...coincidence?" he chuckles slightly, turning to the door to call out, "Come on in, Kharisa."

*Kharisa nods slightly to everyone.*

"Good evening everyone. Are we going to talk about disciplinary action?"

"Hrrm...hmm...I don't think so. Why would we?"

"Much as we are thankful for what they did to help the school, and don't consider me ingrateful, certain copied documents retrieved from their persons clearly indicate a breach of several ordinances and a violation of restricted areas. They seem honest enough--won't you admit to it, Vanitri?"

"I did was was nessessary under the circumstances, though I'd certaintly like to hear your list of accusations."
