A Teacher for Laynie: Mystery at the Academy (Part 2)

"Well...we got into a fight because I was invited to a fancy celebratory dinner for the best students and he wasn't...I invited him as my guest, but he felt I was demeaning him for not being good enough at magic..." Kitty-Lex sighs.

Vanitri hugs Kitty-Lex "Well, when it comes to things like love and friendship, arent' little spats like that meaningless?"

"Well, then we got into a fight and he went out with Kitty, and I went out with you," Sarya-Lex explains, "And I guess it sort of escalated for a while...But now he's gone, and all I can think is that I should have tried to say something when I had the chance..."

Vanitri gives Sarya-Lex a hug, "All you can do is remember the best of him, and learn from your mistakes."

"But are you saying you only went out with me to get back at him?"

"Well, I hope I made you feel better at least. Perhaps if you weren't so afraid of being youself and stoped compairing yourself to others. I know that at the moment, there's no other woman at the Academy I'd rather be with than you," He says to Sarya-Lex, "and you," to Kitty-Lex, with a smile.

"Misha was... well, Misha was different. In many ways, she didn't fit in well, like me. She was special, yes, but in her own way," Vanitri says. "Lex, I won't lie to you. I enjoyed spending time with her, and admitedly most of the female persuasion. But I barely got to know her. I've known you since before I was even a student. And if I had to choose between her and you, I'd choose you in a heartbeat. Remember, when I offered to give up my soul, it wasn't just for Laynie."

*Both Lexes expressions soften and their eyes open slightly wider, an effect that looks extremely fetching on Kitty-Lex, and they flush slightly, almost in tandem. Then they both lean in at the same time from opposite sides and give Vanitri a kiss on either cheek.*

"That's so sweet, Vanitri!" Kitty-Lex says, touched, a small tear in one eye.

"Alden, and you too..." Sarya-Lex says quietly, "So many people willing to sacrifice themselves for me...it really makes me feel simultaneously bittersweet...but it strengthens my resolve. I am going to do something great some day and become a great wizard to help people. I owe it to everyone who is standing behind me and willing to whatever it takes to see me through. What do you think?"

"Indeed, you will Lex. You're already a wonderful woman, and you'll be a great wizards someday. You have the drive, the will, and the talent. I'm just glad I got to be a part of it."
