A well-meaning thread that degenerated into "is the OA Samuari historically accurate"

What exactly does the spell-less ranger get in return for dropping spells?
Fast Mvment (Ex): At 6th level, mvmt +10 ft. Only counts in no, light or medium armor.

Nature's Blessing (Su): At 11th level, +4 bonus (unamed) to Con, Dex, or Wis. Standard action, 1/day, 1 min/level.

Healing Touch (Sp): 1/day at 13th level, neutralize poison or remove disease

Freedom of Movement (Sp): 1/day at 16th level can use freedom of movement. Caster level 1/2 ranger class level.

Do the classes--basic and prestige alike--reprinted in this book supercede previous versions in all cases, or only when specified (either in the affirmative or in the negative)?
I assume they would always superced old versions. Otherwise, I demand a refund from WotC. ;)

Now we have Aragorn.

3. Raptor School -- Spend one full round observing your foe. The next attack aginst the foe gains a +2 to attack and damage for every round you spend observing, upt to max of +6.
Does this specify what type of attack? I could see this being really good for archers and assassins, if you can use it with ranged weapons or in conjuction with a Death Attack.

It's the case of the Samurai that matters most. The OA/Rokugan version (that differs only in how to pay for the Ancestral Sword class ability) isn't like this one; if the CW version supercedes the OA version, then we're going to have a big compatibility conflict that must be resolved.

It is for melee attacks only, not ranged. I don't see why it couldn't be used in conjunction with Death Attack.

What makes the variant Paladin...variant?
No spellcasting. Instead, gains the following:

Blessed Weapon (Su): At 6th level, all melee weapons wielded by paladin are treated as good for bypassing DR

Divine Might (Su): At 11th level, +4 Str, Wis, or Cha (unamed). 1/day. 1 min/class level

Tend to Mount (Su): At 13th level, can heal mount with lay on hands ability except 5 hp are cured for every 1 point spent. Alternatively, can cure many conditions at the cost of 5 points such as ability damage (1 ability point/point used), blindied, confused, etc. etc.

P.S. Roll Tide!

What did they do to the Tattooed Monk? I'm using one tomorrow. I'm most interested in how they changed the Crab ability (the old version gave you DR = 2*tattoos / Con mod) with the new DR system, but as much info as you could give would be fantastic.

Thanks!
