Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

I'm assuming that Darrington either doesn't expect the demand to be so con tinuously high, or they have to scramble to get any reprints done at all. There is a huge demand for printing right now. Could be a combination of both. I can't think of a single reason Darrington would be acting cagey.

Not sure if this was in regard to something I've said, but them being cagey is the furthest thing from my mind.

If anything, and that's a solid "if," there might be a couple things going on. Possibly temporary production constraints, cash flow problems/challenges, and least likely would be softer-than-expected demand.

Please note the careful phrasing there; I'm not saying that demand is softer than expected, just that it's possible because we don't know how many copies have been sold or what their profit margins are.

I'll sort of take that. I wasn't aware they'd done additional print runs, but doesn't sound like anyone here knows how big the runs have been either. I still think it's a bit curious why they haven't been able to keep up with the presumed demand.

You think I'm biased against them, and I think others are unreasonably assuming the best.

I'm reacting to what "feels" to me like some bias the other way.
I mean, pretty simple: the demand is larger than they anticipated...multiple times.

So does anyone have an actual second or third printing book... or are these new print runs still being labeled as first printings?
No idea, or do I know how their errata is being processed and sent to printers.

However, demand seems to be high and the response has been mainly positive.

Could be true. Folks also just went through pages on this thread taking about print capacity limitations, and there's also cash flow. Can only order what they could afford.

It doesn't really matter, though! I recognize that I'm being pedantic.

I mean, they are a multi-million dollar company, cash flow seems unlikely for such a no- Rainer business endeavor. Seems pretty clear that they simply didn't have the logistics in place to meet the number of people who wanted to try the game.

Or, conversely, they did some deliberate planning to try and avoid excess stock based on anticipated demand and sales exceeded their projections.

@Morrus can you shed some light on how long it usually takes to get a large scale hardcover print run spooled up / shipped to distributors / back in the chain?

Soooo, the aqc inc C team “ the green age” that is on right now, brand new premier is still D&D. So maybe this daggerheart thing is new characters but I haven’t seen anything yet.
C Team is what runs regularly (and was once hosted by WotC?) while Acq Inq main is the convention only cast, right?
