[Adamant Entertainment] CORSAIR: The Definitive D20 Guide to Ships

Stormborn said:
Will this book have rules for ship creation? Especially a kind of modular "Add component X to increase cost and buildign time by Y and Z"?

Not a 'from-the-keel-up' system, no....but there is a system for purchasing a stock vessel and modifying it.

Stormborn said:
Will the costs in such a system be in gp, SnB's dubloons, d20 Ms Wealth system, or what?

Listed in doubloons, with a gold piece conversion (and a brief note giving tips for conversion the Wealth system as well).

Timely

I just began a pirate campaign last week. Consider it bought as soon as it's released. I really like PDfs as I can read the at work (!) and now have so many books that just printing out the pages I need saves precious table room. My DMing space is getting like Tokyo. I ran out of horizontal real estate so long ago that I'm building vertically - Big stack of rule books, big stack of realms books, big stack of monster books etc.

Why has it been a waste of time?

No sales. It's especially frustrating because the Forbidden Arcana book was created at the request of several people.

I'll probably try a few more products before I quit trying. What this has taught me, though, is Ronin Arts is definitely a PDF company.

Not to hijack this thread (but I am). I hadn't heard of these books until this thread, and seeing your Lulu page, I am interested in buying at least two of the books (Directory of Demiplanes and Forbidden Arcana) shown. I do wonder how to buy these, through Lulu, or Ronin Arts? I could look at Ronin Arts, it wouldn't hurt, but which is easiest for you?

To be honest, I don't think the format is the problem, but the exposure. I have been to the Ronin Arts site before (actually via another website, suggested by Ashley Wood or Christopher Shy [it was a while ago, I don't recall which]), viewing the artist section. When I see .pdf I don't even bother 99% of the time, I want a print book. Had I known that you offered print gaming books, I would have purchased these long ago (or at least when they were released).

As for Lulu, can you print, say, ten books at a time? I am interested in printing an art book on my own, and printing out a mock up art book for a coffeetable proposal to send to an author. Any information would be great.

Hopefully, GMS will forgive us. You likely found the link through Christopher's site but it's possible Ashley mentioned Ronin Arts at some point. (Not to name drop or anything . . . )

Lulu books are sold straight through their site.

As to printing your own art book, I recommend:

www.instantpublisher.com

I've used them several times and the price and quality are excellent. DO NOT USE THE HARDCOVER OPTION. I made this mistake once and was not satisfied with the binding.

How much overlap is there with Skull & Bones?

Oh, and as an aside Discounthobby.com is going to have a promotional figure of Blackbeard in December. (I need to reread On Stranger Tides...)

The Auld Grump, proud owner of a 24 deadman undead pirate crew...
