Add a Race

I run a homebrew with the standard races. I'm at a point in the campaign (soon!) that it would make sense to add another race.

Any Recommendations as to which race to add?

You havn't really given enough info for me to be able to make a decent suggestion. Maybe if you gave more details on your campaign, even if it is 'generic', then you might get better answers than just blind stabs in the dark.

If not, then I say Kobolds. They have enough material now (from Races of the Dragons) to make them an option - although I do despise the other Dragon races in that tome.

Drow.

But if someone wants to play one their character has to dual wield scimitars and emote constantly about their terribly difficult life as an unappreciated hero. You can give them an extra 10 levels and +10 to all stats to make them faithful to the books though.

Add Centaurs simply because it sounds like what you really want is change and introducing a race that's significantly different from the norm will definitely create change. If you don't have their info handy, they're in the SRD, check them out here:

Alternately, to mix things up, take one of the "bad guys" and make them a player race. This will especially introduce change to your setting if you introduce an event that makes the race no longer considered a "monster", or if you introduce a sub-group that are different. Here are some mosters from the SRD that include "as player characters" info:

Lizardfolk: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/lizardfolk.htm
Kobold: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/kobold.htm
Hobgoblin: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/hobgoblin.htm
Gnoll: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/gnoll.htm
Gargoyle: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/gargoyle.htm
Minotaur: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/minotaur.htm

There are others, browse through http://www.d20srd.org to find one that catches your eye.

Lastly, there are many, MANY player-created races in these forums. You can find nearly all of them by reading this compilation thread:
http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=86539
Give these a careful read though as not everyone is equally skilled at balancing their creations.

Good luck!
