Tapping the kobold on the head, J'ryi passively enquires: "Well, little guy? Are there any traps the two of us need to worry about before we start walking out there? You do realize we're going first - and whatever happens to me is likely going to happen to you, being as you're tied to me and all." To reinforce this last statement, J'ryi wraps the leash around his arm, cinching it tight so the kobold needs to stand very close to him. Scratching his head, and pacing forward, J'ryi begins to think aloud. "I can just imagine the possibilities - pitfalls onto spikes, poison darts embedded in the most uncomfortable of places, or surprise attacks by terrible creatures with far too flexible tentacles." Stopping temporarily to glance bemusedly at hls prisoner, he continues. "I wouldn't enjoy any of those - but I expect you'd enjoy them far less."

[sblock=OOC]Damn it, you stole my observation, renau1g! "Big guys" indeed - J'ryi stands nearly a full foot shorter than Fissure! :p Also, if it wasn't obvious from the roleplay, I'm up front again. The last marching order worked out fairly well, I wouldn't mind going with it again.[/sblock]

-''Well, if Dragonman has kobold trap detector, is okay he goes first.'' Ghorgor mumbles dejectedly.

He likes going first, getting hit hard and laughing it off. But if they were going to do something sensible... fine. He follows behind J'Riyi.

*gulp* "Melkie don't know anything, just where this place was, my cousins didn't say anything about this place besides bragging about the coin they were making" the kobold mutters

J'ryi pats the kobold on the back reassuringly. "Now don't look so glum - I'm not sending you in on your own or anything. I suppose if you're lying you'll have the satisfaction of the fact that as the traps maim or kill you, they'll be strongly inconveniencing me at the exact same time." With that, the dragonborn moves forward to the cave mouth, with the kobold very close at hand. J'ryi's untrained eye attempts to keep an eye out along the way, but his concern is evident by the way he holds the rope, and the short length at which the kobold is forced to follow him. "Just keep in mind, you brought this on yourself..." he mutters quietly - though it's not certain whether he's talking to himself or the kobold accompanying him.

[sblock=OOC] Perception - 6 I originally made that check because I thought an 8 wasn't good enough - which of course means that I'd roll worse. :erm:[/sblock]

Is just J'yri moving up or is everyone following in roughly the same marching order as the previous one? [/sblock]

The grass grows sparse as you approach the cave, revealing a sand-covered stone floor. A well-trodden trail leads into the darkness. The sound of metal on rock reverberates throughout the cavern.

[sblock=Perception DC15]
You find multiple kobold tracks, a couple of larger reptilian prints as wide as a J'yri’s foot, and small tracks that appear to belong to either a drake or dragon[/sblock]

There are no hidden pitfalls or other dangers sprung as you turn the corner you come upon an interesting sight. A group of kobolds are mining this cavern, widening it and there's a passage that continues deeper into the ground. Torches hang are crudely bolted to the walls and provide flickering illumination to the area. A pair of kobolds with shields and longswords (well, long for them) turn to you "Whataya doing here Melkie? Oh shoot... we got intruders!" the left one shouts, seeing Ghorgor and J'yri with the captive kobold.
