OOC: In Zombies And Crooks, the first adventure of Jarel-karn, he had fought Rinch The Riser in a Custom Bound Warehouse that look pretty much like that... only exception, the office was on a second floor (but at the same location on the map) and three bridge was hanging over the crates.

The coincidence is too great, I'll assume it is.

GM: It is indeed the same warehouse. Thanks for pointing that out. I had been going by the image on the wiki, which was a top down of both floors, so it was hard to tell.. The catwalks above are still there, but I hadn't drawn them in yet. If anyone wants to go up there, let me know.

Jarel-karn see the people gathering around the desk and decides to approach Countess Fian-Fen. Jarel-karn take a quick look at the items on teh table before saying to the countess "My lady, I am please to meet one representative of my ancestor's land. My name is Jarel-karn."

OOC: Is Countess Fian-Fen a Genasi or a Dragonborn?

GM: Fian-Fen is a voidsoul genasi. Lin-Feh is watersoul. I'll have to try to get time to write up descriptions of some of the new NPCs.

Countess Fian-Fen barely acknowledges Jarel-Karn's presence with a scowl. Her attendant, Lin-Feh, bows meekly.

"My lady is in deep contemplation right now. Please do not interrupt her."

[sblock=Insight DC 14]Lin-Feh is frightened of her mistress, shaking like an abused animal whenever she mentions her.[sblock=Insight DC 20]What Lin-Feh clearly means by her statement is that her mistress feels that you are not worthy of being acknowledged. Perhaps she only speaks with those of equal station.[/sblock][/sblock]

GM: descriptions of the items to come tonight.

You can hear a few jovial voices from the inside even though they are nearly overshadowed by the commotion on the outside. Pick, Pock, and Poke, the three kobolds, are standing beside a contraption nearly as large as they are, smoke is billowing from it.

"It will identify fact from fake! We can't make purchase without knowing we buy good things!"

"How about you try using yer EYES instead of that blasted device? You'll smoke everyone out for sure."

"How you expect it work if you no burn swamp moss?"
Hmph! I see you are tricking people again! Beatrice says, walking over and folding her arms in front of her.

You still owe me my money back for that magic kettle you sold me! Why don't you stop bothering this nice young guard and fetch it? she says, looking them in the eyes.

As Beatrice approaches the guard nods to her.

"Good day, madam! I do hope you find something to your liking today."

When Beatrice admonishes Pick, Pock, and Poke, the kobolds who was arguing with the guard most vociferously nearly crashes into his own contraption, the second flees for his life, and the third just stands there and wets himself.

The first one turns to the guards and argues.

"She is MUCH more dangerous than machine, but you let her in!"

Jarel-karn understand the situation, but quicly decide he would try to interest her somehow. He looks at the items she is looking at to see what he know about them.

Jarel-karen watches the Countess as she examines the wares. Most of what is on the table is junk that is taking up space, but 10 items appear to be getting the most attention.

[sblock=items]

  1. Silverware belonging to Agra the black. Shows no tarnish though it has been in storage for years.
  2. Diary belonging to Agra the Black.
  3. A set of rings belonging to Agra the Black.
  4. A ruby and gold pendant belonging to Agra the Black.
  5. A box containing the first 100 issues of The Screamer
  6. A collection of recipes from the time of Duanton's founding
  7. A oil portrait of Agra the Black and The Five commissioned about a year before her death.
  8. An amphora depicting geometric designs.
  9. A staff carved from the wood of the white ash that stands in the central park as Daunton's oldest tree on record.
  10. A crate of old wine from all over the Transitive Isles all of it at least 50 years old.
[/sblock]

The countess is most interested in the various writings, but she she stops several times to trace a finger along the leather cover of the book embossed with the personal mark of Agra the Black.

GM: I still owe descriptions, but I am not quite ready with them yet.

Kruk walks into the large warehouse, totally uncomfortable with his surroundings. He moves over to one of the items for bid, a crystal vase, and picks it up. Hmmmmmf...wonder what's this? Rotating the vase, it slips out of his hands and falls to the floor, shattering into pieces. Kruk, cringes and mumbles something under his breath. He then looks around to see if anyone saw what happened. Seeing no one, he reaches into his pouch, pulls out a fist full of gold, and placies them in a stack at the location that the vase once stood. Satisfied with his work, he moves away.

Damen rolls his eyes as the kobold flees and makes his way inside. He is impeccably dressed, as always, and putting on his full "airs" as a proper scion of one of the Founding Families. He looks over the items everyone else is looking at, an whistles softly at the collection of Screamer articles. I know a warforged that would kill us all for half of this collection. Likely say it was for Protecting us from the Doom of the Five or some nonsense. Damen chuckles, but his eyes are looking over everything.
OOC: Oh, man, Incarnation would kill to get his hands on this stuff. As for Damen, he's "looking" at stuff, but really looking to see what everyone else is looking at. Bluff for the deception, perception/insight for the read.

Earth stands, as if he was another item for auctioning. Meanwhile, he observes the people around him, with the eternal patience of the rock. His senses also attuned to the antural world would sense any aberration or anti-natural event or magic happening around him.

Oh, this looks interesting. Beatrice says picking up the recipes. Put this on their tab. She says pointing to the Kobolds.

Jarel-karn replies to Lin-Feh. "I understand why she is so intrigate by the diary. Probably it doesn't contain any obvious secrets, but for a scholar who has studied Agra The Black, you might have hint of things no one knows. It would be such a piece of collection. I think it will be the item that will be the most contested.

Have you travel here just for the aunction?"

The others are well into their discussions/investigations when the oddest site rolls in, the bugbear Kane arrives with his fur all washed and combed, the smell of strawberries drifts in the air behind him. His normally yellowed teeth are cleaned to a white splendor, and his bloodied clothes, armor and weapons are all polished, cleaned up and looking quite prestigious.

Kane walks up to the guards, does his best smile and walks in.

He wanders over to the silverware and begins inspecting the pieces, speaking to the woman next to him, "Ah, isn't these so wonderful? We gots these back at my manor home, or ones like these anyways. My name is Count Crane von Bryon, good to meet youse." he states.

OOC: bluff (1d20+6=23) to pretend he knows what he's talking about (and that he really is a Count). Good thing all of Kane's adventures have been overseas, else he may have had run ins with these folks.
