Adventure: Delivery of Death (DM: Luinnar, Judge: renau1g)

OOC: Ingot also not really a people person... maybe Dorn should talk to the witness?

Ingot listens to the others in silence for a while. When Jax ha to find which s trouble trying to follow the tracks, it bends down, putting its face close to the ground, and does its best to determine which way the murder might have gone.

Suddenly a thought strikes it and it straightens abruptly. "Constable? You said this island was called 'Souragne'? We were told it was called 'Sojourn'. Is it the same?"
[sblock=Roll]Perception (to track) (1d20+5=21) Huh, not bad - so can ingot follow the tracks?[/sblock]

No, it has always been called Souragne all my life. Maybe it is what you foreigners call it, no? Gremin says.

Suddenly RAM TIGER's keen senses pick up the sent of the killer and the Gnoll rushes off. The party goes after him, helped by Ingot who spots the tracks as well. You follows the tracks through the town but the trail grows cold as you reach what looks like the local cemetery.

The village cemetery sits atop a small rise overlooking the town, appropriately dubbed “Cemetery Hill” by the villagers. A single path leads to the gate. A 10-foot-high stone wall surrounds the entire graveyard, and an iron gate on the south side provides you access. As you enter you notice that the cemetery looks new and is well tended. It is filled with headstones as well as many mausoleums for the more well off residents of town. Off in the distance you see the form of the priest burying the casket that you recently opened, as well as another man who is helping him.

Jax thinks about stopping RAM TIGER so the group can speak with Fiora first, but he knows better than to actually try such a thing. He follows at some distance behind the gnoll.

Upon spotting the priest, Jax points him out to Kasha. "Psst, look who's here. He should save the casket, hmm? He only needs a bucket for the remains now." A moment later, Jax says to the group "Maybe the killer is in one of those tombs..."

"Maybe the killer is in one of those tombs..."

YEAH YEAH YEAH!

RAM TIGER nods vigorously in assent, but not because he thinks they will find the killer. Thanks to his adventurer instincts, the gnoll will use any excuse at all to go tomb robbing.

Upon spotting the priest, Jax points him out to Kasha. "Psst, look who's here. He should save the casket, hmm? He only needs a bucket for the remains now."

Kasha snickers. "Yup. Not like that fella showed much gratitude about having a proper burial anyhow."

Kasha looks thoughtful as the idea of ransacking the cemetery is pitched. She's not really keen on going poking through a load of mouldy old tombs, only to undoubtedly get another earful from that oaf of a priest - and that's when her train of thought is interrupted as inspiration suddenly strikes. "I bet it's him," she hisses in a dramatic stage whisper. "He's been killing the locals and zombifying them! That's why he was carting that one around earlier. Probably wanted to bury him and then dig him up later to join his evil undead army, but his weird zombie-magic went wrong and the corpse started moving around too soon like -" she rolls her eyes back into her head and extends her arms, waving them stiffly around in the accepted international sign language for 'I'm a zombie' - "'UHHHHH... I SMELL BRAINS... LEMME OUT'. It all adds up! That's why the priest wants us to leave, because he knows we're gonna crash his messed-up zombie party."

GM: If you want to explore the mausoleums and the surrounding area for clues please roll a perception check or aid another (remember low rolls hinder results as per rule update). If you rather look for treasure please roll stealth and perception/aid another.

Either way there is a good chance you will get spotted by the priest and the other person. It might be wiser to come back at night to remain unseen (or later when they are gone) especially if you want to look for treasure, though viability will be worse if you only have normal vision if you come at night.

Jax responds quickly, lest RAM TIGER charge the priest and "apprehend" him.

"Funny, but he has a good alibi. He was burying the zombie-man while the barmaid was killed." Jax sighs, slightly annoyed by the priest's presence. "Can we come back when he is done? He is mad enough as it is. I don't want him having us burned at the stake tonight. Let's go eat supper or something."

OOC: Mmm, graverobbing. Jax is all for that. Let's come back at night.

Poor Jax was raised above ground, so he is not able to see in the dark as his kin do (translation: stupid PC kobolds play by different rules).

OOC: My mistake! I'll leave what Jax said as it is, in case anyone would like to correct him.

Anyone should feel free to disagree with Jax, btw. It's just that I've learned that whenever the DM says "it might be wiser to," it's a good idea to do what he says, haha.

Kasha frowns, feeling that something is wrong with what Jax said, but she wasn't really paying enough attention to anything she's been told today to actually pinpoint the hole in his logic. She gives a shrug. "Oh well, whatever," she acquiesces, still peering suspiciously at the priest. "I still think he's fishy... but I guess we can come poke around tonight and see what we find. Supper sounds good. Or, oh, hey, weren't we gonna talk to that Forrer woman or whatever her name is? She saw one of the murders, right?"
