Brenn took careful aim at the last wounded ghoul- his arrow dropped the creature in its tracks. Then Brenn looked carefully around, as if expecting some other foe to emerge from the creepy cornfield...

Sir Exsixten runs between each of the dead ghouls, lifting each on into the air with his shield hand so he can hit it with his axe.

Once he's done "killing" all the ghouls, he turns to Luc. FAIR PRINCESS, SIR EXSIXTEN, CHAMPION OF THE ORDER OF THE RED PLUS, AND ASSOCIATES, HAS SAVED YOU FROM... DEAR LORDS OF AWESOME, YOU'RE NOT A DAMSEL? WHY IN THE NAME OR RATIONAL OR EMOTIVE THOUGHT PROCESSES AND SUBSEQUENTLY IMPELLED ACTION WERE WE RESCUING YOU?

There is a loud thunderclap as Brenn fells the last of the ghouls in the town of Marais d'Tarascon. The sky seems to grow darker with every passing minute and the wind howls with even more ferociously. As Sir ExSixTen "kills" the ghouls again, the rest of the party searches the bodies. They find some gold, but nothing else much of value (Dorn senses no magic coming from Jean's weapons). As Sir ExSixTen hacks at the body of Jean with his axe, he slices Jean's cloak and another axe falls out of a pocket, as well as several pieces of red licorice. It seems that, in his madness, he was placing the candy where he killed the victims. Sir ExSixTen picks up the axe, thinking that it was a gift from the fair princess he thought he saw a minute ago.

Luc staggers overs to the Warforged, still visible shaken from the battle. He seems thankful, but he has yet to recover from whatever ails him. He whispers something, but it is drowned out by another crack of thunder.

GM: Great job everyone! That was the hardest encounter yet, but you one-rounded Jean! Everyone will receive extra xp for protecting Luc the next time it is passed out.

What would the party like to do now?

GM: Dekana mentioned before going back to the townhouse you were just in (to search it for clues/loot). Would you like to head back there? :)

Brenn gave the madman's body a long, speculative look before he spoke. "This fellow was running TO someplace- I don't think it was just here in the cornfield. Do we want to try to find or where he was going, or does anyone have a good guess? Or do we want to go back to the house where he ran that ambush and see if we can find more clues there?"

[sblock= OOC] If we extend his path from town to here, looking outwards, does it seem to lead anywhere significant? If not, then I guess we head back to town. If we CAN determine where he might reasonably have been headed, I'd say we look there instead.

FORWARD, TO VICTORY! Sir Exsixten says, marching off blindly into the cornfield.

OOC: Thanks for the axe, sheet is updated.

I vote we search the house for loot/evidence/whatever it is we're doing first. Just don't follow Sir Exsixten, he has no idea what he's doing. :p

As Sir ExSixTen wanders off, Brenn's keen elven eyes scan the ground nearby and find tracks that belong to the ghouls that attacked them. They seem to head to the plantation house that Jax, Andras and Dorn explored earlier. It (like the Townhouse in the village) must of belonged to Jean's family and he probably was going to use it to hide out in.

Since it was explored thoroughly eariler by Jax, Andras and Dorn, the party decides to head back to the other Tarascon house in the village. Entering through the now ruined front door and followed by luc, the party sets off in search of more clues to the mystery (as well as valuables of course).

GM: Everyone please roll a perception check.

You may also specify what you are looking for (loot/clues/both) and what floor you are concentrating on (1st, 2nd or both). Exact rooms does not matter. :)

Since the 1st floor is covered with blood and bits of dismembered ghoul, Jax decides to search upstairs. He walks up, cautiously peeks around the corners of the doors, and then begins looking for valuables.

CITIZENS, SWARM THE DOMICILE, TEAR IT DOWN TO THE FOUNDATION, WE WILL FIND THEM! Sir Exsixten booms out, assuming a natural supervisory role as the group does all the searching.

SIR EXSIXTEN STRIKES A HEROIC POSE, PECS GLEAMING IN THE LIGHT OF THE SETTING SUN, LONG BLOND HAIR FLOWING IN THE WIND AS THE VILLAGE WOMEN GROVEL IN EXULTATION AT HIS FEET.

OOC: Passive Perception: 13.
