[Adventure] Dusk and Her Embrace (Judge: THB)

"Very well..." Ghourra continues. "I will search the dead so long as Brondin is standing over me in case there is trouble. Then we deal with the tainted crystal."

Ghourra starts to pick over the corpses of Doran and his Daggers, looking for the missing money as well as anything else that might be of interest or of value.

Ghourra quickly spots a heavy leather pouch stuffed in the bottom of a partially destroyed backpack laying near one of the beds. Inside are three gems, two rough cut sapphires and another that appears to be intricately cut and gleaming with a small spark of arcane energy. Also in the pouch is a large sum of gold.

[sblock=Treasure]Total treasure: 920 gp (500 gp that the group was sent to retrieve plus another 420 gp); two 100 gp gems and a Siberys Shard of the Mage.[/sblock]

"That must be Garfuss' gold," Brondin points out. "If'n no one wants to, I'll hold our employer's gold, an' we can split the rest."

OOC: You guys want to pool the gold then split it later or divide it now?

"Now let's clear these bodies outta here. Deimos or Bellagon, can either of yous call upon yer arcane powers ta return these bodies to tha Forge once we get them outside? I'd say that's our first step ta cleansing this here temple, and returnin' it to Onatar's hands. After that, we should be focusin' our efforts upstairs, cleansin' this holy house o' evil." Brondin bends, the hoists one of Doran's Daggers over his shoulder and walks towards the stairs, and starts climbing up.

whereas it's just on Tana's wishlist.

It's every implement user's default unless you specialize in one of the elemental types :) That said, I'd probably take the one which heals on death (khyber shard), I was counting on them being fairly low level and affordable. You're welcome to it.

Bellegon starts nosing around while others rest, poking his head in every nook and crany, trying to open the doors, valves and any other openings. He checks the altar itself for hidden traps and doors.

OOC: Arcana +11; Stealth +15; Theivery +11; Perception +3, use as needed

Bellegon does not find anything else, besides the old rotting bedsheets on the two decrepit beds at the south end of the temple. The two doors at the western end of the rectory are swelled shut with rust.

As Brondin ascends the stairs, a low, guttural moaning can be heard from somewhere through the trapdoor. Reaching the top, the moaning has grown all the louder, almost drowning out the dwarf's own thoughts. Peering out one of the slated over windows Brondin sees a nightmare come to life.

Outside the temple, the forest is filled with a cacophony of agonized moaning and screaming that turns blood to ice. Through the main entrance of the temple, a truly horrific sight can be seen. The forest, lit by shafts of pale moonlight, is alive with rotting corpses clawing their way free from shallow graves. At first, Brondin trys to count their numbers, but soon realizes there is little point. The undead horde appears to approach several hundred, if not several thousand, members. There is nowhere to run; stiff, shambling forms fill the landscape as far as eyes can see in every direction. The dubious safety of the temple is now the only hope of survival.

GM: Also, thanks to THB for judging.

Does Bellegon sees that as he approached the altar? Or did I misunderstand it's position?

Also, what a mistake not having blast 20 in this situation :) Unfortuantely I need to curse all of them without rod of corruption...htat would take some doing...

Do we have time to close outer doors? They should be better protection then the trapdoor.
