(Adventure) Dwarven Golems and Old Ruins (GaryH Judging)

[Creamsteak]

The man greets your hand with his own, but his handshake seems a bit weak. He struggles a bit to stand upright, apparently he has spent a great deal of time with his back gent forwards. He then settles on announcing his name, "I'm Sullivan McCombs Stewart, fancy meeting you here."

At this poing Gur comes shambling down the ladder and into the cavern. The older man reacts by commenting, "My lord, you certainly slipped into a pit full of mud, didn't you boy? You don't mind me asking that you stay out of the way of anything of mine that I intend to keep clean?"

Gur looks at the man with a puzzled face, and then says, "So, is this the guy we're looking for?"

The old man's face appears slightly gloomy after that's said, and he looks towards the others in the cavern to see what their reaction is...

Staying silent, the grey elf watches the old man for any signs of deception, smiling and listening politely.

Ewald has waited until all of his companion's are safely down, and then takes his time lowering himself on the rope. He has his backpack with him again, making him a bit more burdened than he'd like.

As he enters the cave and notices the odd man. Slowly, he joins the others, acknowledging the man with a slight nod of his head. He's not entirely sure what has already happened, but he just keeps his eyes and ears open.

Tethering off his horse near the mule, Gregorian moves to the rope ladder. With exstreme care, he goes down it, slipping a little, but no more then some of the others. Seeing the others talking to someone, he moves forward to listen: now here he had some talent!

He siles at the man in a reasuring way "Hello good sir! I'm sorry that I'm late. My name is Gregorian Windfall, I'm afraid I did not catch your name." He pauses expectantly for an answer.

Gregorian watches the man, trying to figure out his motives, and his emotions.

(Uriel/Mithreander, my usual method for gaming assumes diplomacy, sense motive, and innuendo checks. I do not ask for them to be called for.)

The man, still taken aback by Gur's words, awkwardly answers Gregorian's question with, "Well, who did you think I am? Why are you really here? The storms passed, I want to know what your doing this far from any civilization in such a large group? What are you planning to do with me?" The man seems afraid, and possibly a bit confused by everyone at this point. He seems to be looking at the metal case out of the corner of his eye.

"Gur Chuck chuck, Corix and I found the bug collecter a few minutes ago. He had been bitten by one of the sleep bugs and we woke him up. He is already back on his way to town. This gentleman is not who we were looking for." Shariff says.

(OoC: So you are saying you always take them into consideration... hopefully what's on our record sheets, for I have no hope of matching the charm that my charcter SHOULD show. That's great, and I'll never mention them again... so far everyone sences and reads the same thing that Gregorian does. Alright, I'll assume that they rolled well, and me poorly, would that be a safe asumption?)

Gregorian tries to calm down the man, smiling at him with a disarming smile. "As my elequent freind has stated, we are looking for someone or more precisely something."

(OoC: Where did everyone get the idea that we're looking for someone? The only information that we had gotten was from the notice:

Looking for a Tracker. Searching for Artifacts in the Dwemer ruins. Have encountered small Dwarven Golems. Mostly shaped like spiders and insects, but there may be worse. My servant has delivered this advertisement to the Red Dragon in hopes that someone will take up the work. It could be dangerous, many a golem has been enchanted. My assistant will be waiting for anyone wishing to hire on for my expedition in Allimon with an initial starting payment of 10 gold pieces. Further payment will be provided when the job is done, payment subject to the difficulty of the task.

With us skipping the assistant, we're not even sure what artifacts we're looking for! Unless I've missed something.)
