"Errr... did you say something about golems? Are you the individuals recruited by my assistant? Wow, you must be fast. Why the hell didn't you tell me why you were here in the first place! Complete and total disrespect! It's the same as refusing to knock on a nobles door, but worse, because I could have been being robbed you contemptous mob!"

The man catches his breath and calms down. Gur has a look on his face like he might consider beating the man to death for yelling so loudly.

Sullivan continues, "Well, anyway, yes, this is the underground cavernway. Leads into the old Dwarven hub-city of Tally-oh. I'm a scholar from the College at Allimon. I'm here to research the caverns in and around Tally-oh, which are mostly abandoned. When I was fiddling with some of the devices about a mile inside this tunnel, my assistant and I were attacked by animated bronze figures, they moved much faster than was expected. I managed to dispel one of them, and collect it into my tool-case. It came back to life in less than a minute, and I'm afraid I just don't want to open that box again. The damnable things are as hard as the metal they are made out of, and resistant to magic. I saw some that were not active a while ago, but they disappeared from sight. I fled up to the entrance, and sent my assistant for aid, but you know that already."

The man pauses, "So, what price did my assistant negotiate for the action of finding and disabling these creatures so I can continue my research here? And by the way, why exactly did you all leave him behind, or is he just up above?"

Gregorian, always liking to stick to the truth sticks with it now. "Your assistant and us were unable to come to an agreement. We thought it best to see the challenges first hand before coming to any sort of agreement, thus we are here." He stops looking beyond the man and turns his attention to the man's face. "We left your apprentice at the meeting place and came directly here. I'm sure he'll be along soon."

Okay, so Gregorian has a hard time telling the WHOLE truth.

"I suggest we store this case someplace out of the way so we can take it back with us for examination," Devlin comments as he strolls back to the rest of the group. "Now, would you care to start at the beginning and give us a more complete account of what you encountered down there?"

Silvercat asks 'Do you have any Tea perhaps? it was a bit wet out there...' The elf doffs his boots and switches out new stockings for his water-logged ones while awaiting the old man's tale in more detail.

"Silvercat allow me. Everyone who wants to be dry come to me." Shariff will cast Prestidigitation dry and by the time the spell wears off he should be able to get the whole party. (and be out of Cantrips for the day.)

Ewald is pretty relieved that the situation has not escalated into violence. Relaxing a bit, but still wary of the strange man, he puts his heavy backpack down

Ewald tries to pay close attention to everything happening around him, and shoots an odd eye at Gregorian. He doesn't say anthing though, and joins Shariff to clean and get dry.

Catching Elalds look, Gregorian turns towards him and winks with the eye that's away form the explorer. Turning back to the man and hearing Sharrif's offer to dry thier cloths, Gregorian bows to the man and says "Will youplease excuse me? The idea of staying soaked does not appeal to me if I can avoid it." With that, he turns to Sharrif and his mintrations to dry him and the rest of them.

"Now that is trully useful magic, thank you!" He smiles at the mage in thanks and then goes back to the explorer with a sigh of relief and a casual manner, that he hopes relaxes the man. "Now that we're all confortable, perhaps we can discuss this job and the offer." He leans against the wall (if it's not slimy, dirty or gross), crossing his arms and crosses his anckles in an attempt to further relax the explorer.

Corix turns to sharriff and asks for a drying.....

"If you would mind friend..."

*corix smiles*

In reply to Gregorian's initial answer, the man responds with a cringe in his face, "Well, this isn't expected, but that toady little boy probably didn't even wantt o leave town. He's a bit on the lazy side."

In response to Devlin trying to get his hands on the figure in the case, the man responds, "Actually, the contents of that tool-box are the property of my university. I'll be taking that one back, but your welcome to any of the others. They are dangerous though..."

Then, he answers Devlin's query about the encounter, "I was working with one of the lower pyres, one that was associated with the old Dwarven religion of elementalism of the earth. It is a huge sphere, roughly nine feet wide and made out of bronze. It's embedded in the earth, and although we can tell that it is hollow, we don't want to cut our way in. So we're digging around it in the earth in an attempt to find if theres any kind of entrance of a more fitting type."

The man pauses a bit, considering how disinteresting this may be to the group in front of him, and moves on, "Well, the golems were in the form of insects. They look like simple little builders, constructors and such. Each has a different appendage near the front of it's body, some have picks, others saws, some hammers, one or two had flames coming out of the front. Oh, and there were some that could fire nails into softer materials, or my leg." The man reveals that he has a nail embedded in his left shoe. It doesn't appear to have injured him.

"Well, they simply were not active until some time during our excavation. They chased us right out of the place, and I was pretty luck. The only wound I was struck with was from tripping and falling on my arm. It's a little tight, but I should be fine."

"I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount for someone with a professional ability to disable these devices to do just that. They don't look too hard to bust up, if you can disable them from being able to squirm and saw away. I'd be careful of the ones with the flames though, that could be painful..."

"Did my assistant recover from his injuries?"

When Silvercat asks for tea, the man ponders, "I've got nothing here, but I'll spot you a cup if I ever find you at a tavern. I'm much more of a wine man myself."

"My license doesn't permit me to spend too much extraneously on my research, and this is considered extraneous since I'm supposed to be able to handle this situation, but I'm scared to death of those little things. They could be digging through the earth for all I know. I cannot spend more than eight hundred crowns coins extraneously per month, which means I can't really afford to pay you more than five hundred crowns this month."

Listening intently, Silvercat sighs and opens his pack, retrieving his tiny little pouch of Jasmine Tea, as well as a little jar of Honey.'I'm afraid there's no cream, but if someone else has a pot...'
