"Sir. What can you tell me of the specifics of what these "golems" are made of? I'm an Armorer by trade and will want to take samples back to study." Shariff says.

Gregorian smiles at the man, andsays "I can only assume that your apprentice recovered from his injeries. He never complained about them to me." He then conciders the money and says "That's fine as long as you agree to allow us to keep anything that we find as long as it does not hamper your study. Agreed? Ah, it seems my companions have some further questions for you..." he politely listens to the other questions while mentally counting the money.

Sullivan thinks on Shariff's proposal and Gegorian's request, but must state, "Well, I can't let you have anything original. I don't have the authority to allow that. The best I can do is offer you an opportunity for second-hand research. The authorities that sanction my work wouldn't allow it. They are mostly bronze, though I havn't exactly gone in-depth to analyze their innards."

"These authorities: they own this mine?" Gregorian asks, a glint coming to his eye as a clever idea enters his mind. "No, then on who's authority are they giving this authority?" Gregorian asks the question in a cuorious fassion ment to get information, not make the man defensive.

"Beurocracy my boy. Every theocracy has them. The tunnels originally belonged to the Dwarven Cultures that worshipped elementalism. One of their descendants, a Big Mean bastard of a dwarf, Gib Neam, is the owner of this region. He licensed the Allimon board of directors, that being the college, to do some studies on the facilities down here, when I uncovered the orb and later these golems."

"Thank you for answering my questions." Gregorina says as he considers. Well! "How long have these caverns been uninhabited?" Gregorian continues with his questions as his curiosity is peeked. "And do you have a map?"

"Ahh, the joys of bureaucracy. We're working for someone who works for someone who was hired by someone else. Now, Sullivan, you seem to be a reasonably intelligent man. Are you sure there's no way we could come to some sort of agreement regarding salvage rights on these constructs? Surely there will be more than enough for your employer to study that we could at least procure a couple for our own research," Devlin remarks as he takes up a position near the side of the cavern again, but still in Sullivan's line of sight.

Sullivan Responds, "Er... well... I'm not really permitted to do that. Where exactly did you come from, are you part of an institution?"

"I'm not a member of any one institution, as it were. I'm a freelance acquirer, and not at liberty to divulge the identity of my current benefactor. I understand your hesitance in acting without your employer's express permission and perhaps it would be better for all if we put off any further discussion of this until a more suitable time," Devlin smiles as he responds.

He approaches Sullivan, still with a slight grin, "Now, my colleague Gregorian, that natty looking chap over there, inquired if perhaps you have a map of the complex that we could use to better plan our excursion."

"Ah well, the layout is quite simple actually. That tunnel over there goes straight down at a fifteen degree angle for roughly eight miles, then it joins a web of tunnels that forms the outer cloister of what was once a city. The spherical object I'm reseraching is halfway imbedded in the ground about a quarter mile in... The winding and twisting sub-paths are too small for most men to get through properly, but those haven't been mapped. I've crawled around in them before, but besides being great hiding spots and useful for getting onto other highways once you get into the web, it's rather simple as I said. Problem, I suppose, is I guess you couldn't tell how many of those mechanations would be dwelling in there, could ya... hrm... I hadn't considered that..."

"Er, to get to the point, I actually havn't been mapping the place, though I do have a pretty good memory of the layout."
