Hilkalas moves to Tana's side, but he doesn't offer a helping hand, but a stern look. "On your feet gnome, you've not done nothing but fall on your belly the entire battle! Show me you are worth carry on with!" the marshal barks mentally. Tana feels the same empowering sensation Rava felt, her body filling with newfound courage.
The marshal looks up the hill, quickly assessing the combat situation. Sirrah's opponent was almost finished, if Jayce drops his, he could charge the unprotected bandit, and quickly end this mockery of an ambush.
"Marshal Jayce, stop toying around with your opponent, bring him down at once, show no mercy! Afterwards, charge the remaining enemy." Hilkalas orders into Jayce's mind.

(The ally is using Melee Basic Attack.) Compare this to Direct the Strike which is a Ranged 5 and thus can be used at a distance.

Could you please repost all of your actions? They occur at the end of the PC's turn so that I do not have to do retcons. Note: [MENTION=360]drothgery[/MENTION], I am ruling that Rava healed you instead of Hilkalas. So, you can still use the Amulet, but Rava heals for healing surge +2D6+11 instead of +1d6. So, just roll an additional D6 and use one healing surge, and let me know if you still want to use the Amulet.

Jayce, Rava, and Tana get 5 temp hit points from Rava's heal.

Terribly sorry, I got really confused it seems. Somehow I thought I had two uses of inspiring word. My corrected actions follow:

Hilkalas is unable to do much more from his current position, so he sprints forward, trying to join the melee.

Will move from M5 to I5 (5 moves) then spend 2 moves to get up the hill, then spend 4 moves to get beside Rava at F5. Is that right?
