Adventure: Fire and Ice

Hadrak looks alarmed at the prospect of 'finding' Rigas. This would involve leaving the island and taking another boatride mere minutes after the last one. No, no, no.

-''Or, we could just wait for them! They are bound to attack again. With any luck, this Rigas will be with them. If he isn't then... we capture one of the attacker and make them tell us were Rigas is and... *shudder* we go find him. By boat. Again.''

Ingot nods at Hadrak's words. "Yes, from what Brother Micah has said, it sounds as if Rigas and his allies will come to us, here. We should prepare a defense."

Ingot turns to Micah. "Before that, if we have time, might we examine the diamond? We might be able to learn something more about the situation. I also confess to simple curiosity - I have long studied and admired the Five."

"While it might be easier to wait for Rigas here... who knows what kind of destruction he is planning for this monastery. If we wait, we will have to face his entire force at once. We are but five adventurers... how many can we truly handle? If we seek out Rigas, we may be able to attack him when he does not expect it, which would allow us to fight a much smaller force. Of course this would depend on us knowing where Rigas is. It would also mean that while we were looking for Rigas the monastery would be vulnerable to an attack..." Crag lowers his head in thought.

"We stay here. The risks are too many if we are away. Brother Micah... are there materials in the monastery that we could use to build an interior wall or fortify the outer wall? If so, we may be able to bottleneck the enemy and force them to come at us only a few at a time. "

Ingot turns to Micah. "Before that, if we have time, might we examine the diamond? We might be able to learn something more about the situation. I also confess to simple curiosity - I have long studied and admired the Five."

"I'm afraid I cannot allow that at this time. Although your words ring of truth regarding the fate of Brother Hiram, I am still wary of allowing outsiders to see the artifact. You understand?" Brother Micah replies.

"I am glad you won't leave us unguarded. We don't really have any major sources of construction materials, you can possibly use our furniture as material, but again we don't carry much material wealth here." Brother Micah says.

[sblock=OOC]
Probably some simple wooden furniture pieces, so maybe you can piece together something, but probably not enough for a full interior wall...

"Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too. Give me a small hole in a wall and I can provide plenty of... trouble for whomever may be coming to attack..."

Crag sighs at the news that there are few supplies with which to build a wall.

"It is truly a shame that I am not more in tune with Terra. I might be able to call on her to build one for us if I were. This island is earth upon rock upon more earth. A wall made of that would hold out against even Rigas."

"We should not assume that the enemy will attack again in the same manner and location as their earlier failed attempts. Is there any possibility they might infiltrate the monastery undetected and go straight for the relic? Is there already an interior bottleneck any would have to pass to get to the relic?"

Ingot looks uncertain. "That is - Brother Micah, if you would trust us enough to set up a defense in such a place. It is understandable, though regrettable, if you did not, since that plan would probably make it easier for us to get to the diamond if such were our intention..."

Something sparks (figuratively) in Crags ..."brain" and a grin creaks into place on his stony metal face.

"Unless of course, my dear Ingot, that diamond were to be placed elsewhere. Somewhere that neither we or Rigas could possibly know existed." Crag turns to Brother Micah. "Does such a place exist so that we could set up a decoy in the room that Rigas would know was the room it should be in?"

"A sage idea, but alas, there are wards on the room that were cast by Threehammers himself that are beyond my ability to remove. I didn't think anyone would be able to remove them until the time occured, but with the ferocity of the cult's attacks they must know of a way." the elf replies.
