Adventure: Fire and Ice

[sblock=Hiram's body]We brought it with us on the ship, right? But did we carry it up the path? I guess so...[/sblock]

"I am sorry, Hiram was slain by a ninja named Rigas. We defeated many of Rigas' companions, but were unable to capture him or save Hiram. We brought Hiram's remains with us..." Ingot turns to Crag.

OOC: If needed, here is a Diplomacy check (1d20+1=14).

[sblock=OOC]Actually, I think Ingot would have carried it, but I (the player) forgot. Ingot is a lot more conscientious than me. :)

I'll edit my post.[/sblock]

Crag walks up the stairs gently carrying the body of Hiram. Making his way slowly through the group, he presents Hiram in the most respectful way he knows how. Which is to say that he holds the body up by one leg, letting the rest of the body dangle.

"Here is your friend. What should I do with him?"

[sblock=Ugh...] And here's Crag with his magnificent 7 on a Religion roll to understand how one should treat a body... [/sblock]

[sblock=Corpse ninja'd!]I edited in that Ingot was carrying the body, looks like Kalidrev had the same idea. I re-edited that post to have Crag being the one carrying it. (We wouldn't want to waste that fine Religion roll! ;))

And then...[/sblock]

Religion check (1d20+6=18) Ingot has had no experience with mortal remains, but its religious training is enough for it to know that Crag is not handling the body with proper respect. The warforged priest's eyes take on a pinkish shade, indicating embarrassment.

"Ah, Crag, thank you for, um, well, yes - let me help you with that." Ingot reaches out and lifts Hiram's torso gently, bringing the body closer to horizontal. The dead monk's free leg and arms dangle limply. (OOC: or would there be rigor? Whatever. :p) In a whisper, Ingot adds, "Please, do NOT pull the monk!"

Seeing their bretheren being dangled like this is almost too much for the taller of the duo as his face blanches and he leans over the low wall, losing his lunch. The smaller of the two calls down and a few minutes after the gates open and an elf of advanced age approaches, his frame is bowed and its difficult to determine his exact age. A pair of stronger looking humans flank him and take the body from you.

"Greetings I'm Brother Micah, abbot of the Jeram Monastary. If you've met with Brother Hiram I have much to discuss. His death is certainly vexing and I wish to know in full detail the events leading up to it. If you come with me it will all be made clear" the elf says, gesturing for you to follow.

-''Great. Things will be made clear.'' Hadrak mutters. ''I don't like people who 'make things' clear. Bit full of themselves. I prefer people who 'bring you up to speed' or 'explain everything'.''

A low rumbling sound can be heard from Crag's chest in a spasmodic jumble that Hadrak can only guess was a laugh at his comment. Walking behind the rest of the group, he pulls out his armor and shield, feeling slightly uncomfortable without them, and begins to equip himself while walking toward the interior of the monastery.

Relieved that hostilities have been averted, Dorn falls in line behind Crag, marveling at the strange laughter coming from inside the warforged's body.
