Marl moves away from the wall, stepping into view in front of the nearby guard.
"Ah, Biaust, Arngrim, I see that you two aren't sleeping at your posts. Good. I just spoke with the foreman and he asked me to check your alertness. Now, would you please tell me the identity of the man in white that you just let into the mine?"
The guard, Arngrim, who seems to have his grip tightly and firmly placed on the haft of his Halberd seems steps forward with his left leg. He is shaking, no -trembling, as he seems to both grimace painfully and at the same time to lift his weapon threateningly.
The other guard is not so shaken, he seems to go from his attention to a ready at arms position, looking at Marl from behind his stoic metal mask.
Arngrim, still trembling, speaks. Arngrims voice is raspy, dry, and scared. His deep inner voice comes out through even the dry parched unwilling throat that tries to suppress itself. Arngrim's simple words are,
"Help me..." as his weapon spirals around his body and strikes the other guard in his right armpit with the blade of the weapon (26 to hit, 13 damage). The other guard doesn't even seem to flinch at the pain, but the blood streaks out of the armor even in its hardened dry state. The dark mottled fluid drips through the platemail and along the metal crack running along the breastplate where both halves are conjoined.
Arngrim's form seems out of control, swinging left and right, but stepping towards Marl none-the-less (5 foot movement). The other -wounded- man seems to stumble forwards now. He rushes forwards, albeit slowly, till he is standing adjacent to Marl with his weapon fully raised and ready (move action). He is far too slow to strike quickly, giving Marl an opportunity to act before the sentry does.
Jagos, calm now after his earlier chock, says to Vanadan: "Seems there's not much to see here. We should get back to the others."
Following his own advice, Jagos goes back and tells the others: "I couldn't find any locked door but it seems two men just left through a door over there." He points toward the door and continues: "They might have seen us. We should move away from here in case they return more numerous. How about that tower? Anyone think of someplace better?"
Jagos motions towards Asen and adds, "You find any cause for that?"
Grog & Vanadan: You hear the sound of a blade cutting through a metal plate and a flury of metal blades hitting upon rock walls outside. The others probably didn't hear the noise because it sounds to be a bit far away and there are the walls of the structure your in that are in the way. ==Results for a listen check DC was 18==
