(OOC: Theoretically, it takes all of your waking travel time, but: If you beat the check by so much that you double the amount you need, I will halve the time for you )
ooc: So apparently it's DC 24 to provide food and water for everyone while we travel, at half speed? ... And a -5 on the check to move at normal speed? -20 to move double speed? If I'm assisting Somac, we have a +10 to the check, which means 14 or better. I don't know if everyone can assist at the same time although it is untrained.
(OOC: Everyone can assist to give +2 each if they make a DC 10 check. The neat thing about the +2 to feed one more person system is that assisting on the Survival check is functional identical to making your own separate Survival roll )
(OOC: I thought for sure that the -5 rule existed in 3.0, but I do not see that option in the 3.5 PH. Can you cite me a page number? Oh and my suggestion is to have Somac make a check by himself moving at half speed and no penalty and have everyone else work together on a check made at -5 )
ooc: It's in the description of Track, not in the Survival skill description. I don't have the book on me, but it's in the SRD. Moving at normal speed wouldn't give the assist check a -5, I thought, just the main check.
(OOC: The assist checks would need to be at a -5 unless the assisting character was moving at half speed. Anyways, I'm pretty sure that the Track rule of -5 is not supposed to be allowed for the food-gathering rule, but I've decided to allow it )
ooc: All right, that's what I was afraid of. Well, I won't turn down GM generosity either. I'm for Somac making a check by himself and everyone else cooperating on another at -5 (as per the GMs suggestion *ahem*). That brings us down to 20', right?
