Cade continues to sit slumped over in his saddle. Alton, seeing that there is no more combat, steps out a bit looking for help for his fallen master.

OOC: Yes, I know there's other stuff going on, just letting you know I'm still here. :)

*Vrina calls out in Orcish.*
[SBLOCK]
"Wait!"
[/SBLOCK]
*As she places a hand on Somac's shoulder:*
[SBLOCK]
"Why won't you kill me? I have been banished from my band for pursuing the duel, and what is more I was proven wrong. The duel was the price for his death, and thus you owe me no debt--in fact, at this point you would be doing me a mercy to kill me. I have nowhere to go and my life belongs to you, and there is no way to discharge that bond save through exercising your privilege--even I cannot slay myself. You hate hobgoblins, right? You must surely want to kill me. There is nothing else here for me."
[/SBLOCK]

"I guess you were not listening," Jiigral explains to Somac, "Let me say it one more time for you: The wench is not with me. I would not stand for one of my band offering violence as she did, so I exiled her. Her duel was purely personally and not affiliated with us. She's not even his full sister, the half-breed bitch...Thus the weregild still stands, though as for the render, we weren't tasked to kill that one--it would just be foolish to keep it alive. It is against my better judgment, but leave it so if you wish, but let it be known that the blame rests on your heads if it starts murdering people. If you still can't understand that she isn't with us and her duel is separate and you would like to think of the weregild as purchasing the life of the second render instead, then feel free."

"In any case, I believe we are done here," Jiigral comments, as he motions for the hobgoblins to strip the armour and axe from each orc, tossing the other gear and money from the orc warband to the party to keep.

*The party gains 120 gold in loose change, as well as assorted orc gear, but loses 35 platinum of Somac's plus 150 more gold, which I will assume is paid from the 120 found off the orcs as well as the party's change, so that A'jardin and Somac need not give away any of their gear. Additionally, you may keep arguing about the armour and weapons, though frankly I don't even think you guys could have carried them all without slowing down more ;)*

OOC: Cade will offer all the gold he has (which isn't much) whenever he wakes up. It probably is time to move on.

Somac: Male Human Bbn 3

Somac is fine with the resolution. As the hobgoblins finish their business, he tries to get a feel for Vrina's trustworthiness.

OOC: Can I make a Sense Motive check?

*Somac feels that he can trust Vrina. She seems honourable though sometimes a bit rash, and conflicted due to rejection over racial and gender issues.*

(OOC:

Sense Motive 19 + 0 = 19)

OOC: Sounds like my mother-in-law! :p

Somac accepts Vrina's presence. He welcomes her then explains to the rest of the group that she desires to follow them out of a sense of obligation for the sparing of her life. He tells them that he trusts her.

OOC: Sounds like my mother-in-law!
(OOC: Oh dear. That was not my intention. )

*Incredulous, Vrina asks, to make sure, in Orc.*
[SBLOCK]
"Wait...you are inviting me...accepting me in your warband? After I tried to kill you? But why?"
[/SBLOCK]

ooc: Rystil, I dont think it was ever our intention to keep the orc's gear. We just objected to the hobgoblins taking it without paying for it. They clearly have the value of it in weregild...so they should pay us NOW (ie there is no reason for us to follow them to town, and if the Leader is truly honorable, he would be unwilling to take what he hasnt earned) !!

OOC: [sblock]It was certainly my intention to keep the orcish gear, even if it means slowing down, unless we can get fair market price for it from the hobgoblins. We barely had enough money to buy a sufficient amount of supplies as it was, but this wirgild crap has decimated our cash supply, and I can't assume that we'll be able to replenish it on the way to the desert. This is not just posturing, I honestly find Jiigral's arguments to be preposterous. But in character...[/sblock]

in goblin:
[sblock]That equipment is ours! Jiigral you sack of ogre offal, I might not be able to stop you, but know that your specius arguments have no one fooled, you just use any excuse necessary to cover up the fact that you are a thief![/sblock]

In common:
There is no resoning with these highway bandits, let us heal our wounded and be on our way.

In draconic:
[sblock]I am glad that something that Somac said or did convinced you not to throw away your life. So you will be travelling with us? You will find in time that Somac is not a monster as you thought initially, assuming you don't understand already.[/sblock]
