*Jiigral replies in Goblin to A'jardin.*
[SBLOCK]
"We've been over this one before: Above and beyond the fact that you killed some of our own, which we have dealt with already, is the fact that you ambushed us and forced us into a position where it would be suicidal not to retreat, then proceeding to defeat the group of opponents that we lost good men softening for you after we did so--just because the orcs who were carrying the armour were not there at the time means nothing: the critical opponent was the render, which I can tell you from experience would have slaughtered one or more of you each time you got a chance to attack--but it had no chance to do this because we weakened it so much; thus you are extraordinarily lucky that none of your comrades is dead. This certainly does not make the equipment yours, though admittedly it does not make it ours either--there is obviously a middle-ground. Thus, we will be taking it to the villagers as proof that the orcs are dead. If you want it after that, you will come to the village with us and we'd be glad to let you have it afterwards if you want to wear filthy orc armour."

In goblin:
[sblock]Fine, you weakened the render, and I am willing to let you have all it's possessions, but you did nothing to defeat the orcs. The situation is quite simple, we defeated the orcs, so their equipment is ours. If you are interested, we will consider selling you the equipment once we have determined its value. Furthermore, you will need to either leave or drop your threat of attacking us so that we can see to our wounded. I do not intend to leave them lying on the ground just because of your paranoia.[/sblock]

in common:
Jiigral repeats that since they intended to kill the orks and we stopped them, that the orc equipment belongs to them. I, of course, am insisting that since we defeated the orcs while they were hiding in the woods, that any salvage is ours, though I have offered to sell it to them if they are interested.

*Jiigral angrily replies.*

"You know, I can understand your language, and I'd appreciate if you didn't lie to your comrades about what I was saying. I said: 'We've been over this one before: Above and beyond the fact that you killed some of our own, which we have dealt with already, is the fact that you ambushed us and forced us into a position where it would be suicidal not to retreat, then proceeding to defeat the group of opponents that we lost good men softening for you after we did so--just because the orcs who were carrying the armour were not there at the time means nothing: the critical opponent was the render, which I can tell you from experience would have slaughtered one or more of you each time you got a chance to attack--but it had no chance to do this because we weakened it so much; thus you are extraordinarily lucky that none of your comrades is dead. ooc: LOL this is funny. Ok now tell them that since we have as good or better right to the armor, we will be taking it to the edge of the desert, and THEY are welcome to follow us there, and buy the armor when we sell it.

HA, 2 can play that stupidity.

A'jardin replies in common, then repeats himself in goblin:
I consider what I said to be an accurate summary. For some reason you feel that even though you never struck a blow against the orcs, you have an equal right to their equipment. That is ridiculous.

In common:
Scun, if you would please start healing our friends. I think it is pretty well established that there will be no fight here, and I don't want to waste any more time with this pointless bickering.

OOC: did the renders look "heavily wounded" when we arrived? There was no mention of them being wounded initially, and it would have made a difference if they had been.

(OOC: Yes, the renders were heavily wounded by the hobgoblins. That's how you guys killed the CR 8 monster without it getting a chance to attack ;)

By the way, I'm going to hold off on resolving the conversation from your last post because Somac and Vrina should have been finished their duel long before this :))

Somac: Male Human Bbn 3

Somac hesitates a moment, confused. "If my payment for killing your brother is the weregild, why do we fight? If my payment is the duel, why do we pay weregild? Am I to risk you killing me and pay for his raising?"

(OOC: Assuming somebody translates this to Vrina to speed this up.)

*Translated from Goblin into Common by somebody.*

"I don't want your money, murderer. Keep it for all I care. I demand a Duel of Life in honour of my brother whom you slayed, and nothing will convince me otherwise. Now draw your axe--I will not attack you unarmed...I will beat you honourably and prove that you were nothing more than a foul murderer...but if you try to avoid arming yourself to avoid the duel, then I will have no choice but to attack regardless."

Somac: Male Human Bbn 3

Somac steps forward, bends down and picks up his greataxe, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Have it your way, goblin," he spits in the orcish tongue. "You and he can roast in the same hell."

Edit: OOC: Forget about the Sunder thing until next round. If Somac wins initiative (+6) he'll use Power Attack at full strength. If he loses initiative he will simply make a normal attack.
