OOC: "saved" tandi(who was only there because said render was with the girl) from another render(related to the first render?) who is the cause of the entire situation. Need to remember all the facts. I might feel sorry for the render due to it's apparent selfless motives, if it wasn't a vicious and dangerous killing machine.
ooc: There's no evidence that the renders are related and there's no evidence the one we're killing is a vicious and dangerous killing machine. Otherwise, I think you have your facts straight.

ooc: in case you're waiting for me to post

Scun waits until they move the girl away and then checks out how the render is holding up. If it is still alive, he finishes it off with his spear. Then he heads back to the group, slowly. He doesn't look at the girl or speak to her.

In orcish, "The creature was not saved. It is dead."

(OOC: This post has music to listen to while you read it. You can download and play the music, and then continue, or not. Whichever you prefer.)

*Scun walks over to the body of Laynie's Doggie and places a finger to its neck, feeling for a pulse. Sure enough, something had allowed the creature to survive the hideous blow it had received when it interposed itself between Tandi and Laynie and the orcs' render. Scun pulls out his spear and thrusts it through the unconscious guardian's skull, causing blood and grey matter to drip out onto the ground. The render's unusual blue eyes go dull, and its heart ceases beating. It is definitely dead now.*

*As Scun returns, Laynie screams out with a look of dread*

"Doggie! Doggie! Noooooo!"

*And she runs to the dead render's side and begins to weep uncontrollably, hugging the dead creature in her arms.*

"Doggie! You were so gentle...so kind! Doggie--I love you...No!!! Why!? Mommy...Daddy...Doggie..."

*And she collapses to the ground sobbing inconsolably. Even Vrina wipes away tears.*

ooc: what I meant by "move the girl away" was take her from the scene, so that she wasn't able to witness or return to the "doggie" at all.

ooc: Well its done now. I think someone (and if nobody else, Scun with his fast movement) would have grabbed the girl to prevent her going to the corpse.

(OOC: Hmm...I guess he could have, but then she would be mad instead of sad--at the moment, she hasn't been able to put two and two together to realise that you murdered her Doggie, she thinks he just up and died.)

Cade walks over to the little girl and gives her a hug. "Laynie, I'm sorry for yer loss. I'm sure he was a good dog, but unfortunately dogs sometimes pass away. But those we love are never truely gone. They're here (he points to her head) and here (points to her heart). As long as we remember them they're always with us."

Cade waits a bit for Laynie to gather herself, and then forces a smile when he says "How'd you like to ride my doggie for a while? Alton's a fine dog and I'm sure he'd love to get to know a wonderful girl like you."

ooc: ah, ok.

Scun says to the others, while looking at Tandi. "I think its best if we get on our way. I'll lead the way for now, someone should get the child and console her while we travel."

Scun heads to the front and tries to put as much distance between him and the little girl as he can. He begins to feel remorse and second guess his actions, which seemed so right a moment ago.

Nodding at Scun, Tandi looks down to Laynie. "I'm sorry Laynie. Like Cade said, Doggie will always be with you, just like Mommy and Daddy are always watching you." Taking the young girl's hand, she slowly leads her from Doggie. While she walks, she looks at Cade and speaks quietly. "Thank you."
