ooc: ok, horse (I'm assuming light horse) + riding saddle + bit and bridle = 87gp, x3 = 261gp.

"Very well Mayor Lucas, here's the money." Rillian pulls it out of his bag in a variety of coinage. "Though, I think will keep it here while we wait for Lena to fetch the horses and the farmers. Like my pop used to say 'Never hand over the cash until you see the whites of their eggs.' " Rillian smiles. "It should be safe to spread it around however you feel necessary, I'm sure we can make it up when we recover what the hobgoblins took."

"Hmm, I'll have her fetch what she can find right away then," Mayor Lucas agrees, "In the meantime, I'm trying to think of a way to bolster our people's spirits. Perhaps if we made a big deal in a ceremonial way about your pursuit of those awful hobgoblins, with a big key to the town and a quill and such. I think they could sleep more soundly if they see that you heroes are on the job."

*Mayor Lucas waves Lena to go ahead out and find some horses, and she heads off quickly.*

"Well, we dont want to give those hobgoblins too much of a head start. Can you organize your ceremony while we wait for Lena?"

"Sure. If you don't mind, I'm thinking we have you come out and announce your intentions to save the village while signing your names on an official-looking scroll or something, then I hand you the key to the city and all the villagers bless your venture as you head off. I'm guessing this means that you won't be able to stay for a feast in your honour right now, so we'll just have to save that for later."

"Sound 'right to me, shouldn't strain yer resources too much either that way." Cade says, unhappy about the added delay but unable to say know to such a good cause.

"That all sounds wonderful Mayor Lucas. Why dont you add an official scroll that says something about how you have empowered us to hunt down the hobgoblins and orcs for the safety and preservation of the town, and sign it? You can call it an official mandate, and it should make everyone feel better."

Scun keeps an eye out from the hill near town, looking for any bands of orcs or hobgoblins in the vicinity.

"Sounds like a great idea. I'll get to work on it right away!"

*Mayor Lucas starts gathering some things, bustling about in preparation, but he has a thought:*

"If there's anything you'd like to do to prepare, I guess now's the time. Lena will be back shortly with the horses, I hope, and then we can do a quick ceremony so you don't lose too much time. My deepest thanks to you once again."

*Scun notices no new threats on the horizon, though he does see some activity at the town hall, followed by the girl who met his friends leaving and heading to the nearby farms.*

"Cade, why dont you and the others see about picking up some more food and supplies for the horses, and I will let the others know what we have agreed to?"

ooc: Assuming no objections, Rillian goes up the hill to where Scun and the others have been waiting, and everything he has seen and said.
