Adventure: Into the Wild

Things are going smoothly and everyone is relaxing except Nementah. There is something she doesn't like in the attitude of the crew man who is chatting with her. Something odd, something off. He tells a joke that Nementah didn't get and laughs, one hand on Renquist's shoulder in a friendly manner. Renquist is laughing with him. Then the crewman's hand slip inncuously toward his blade...

-''NO!''

Was it Nementah's warning? Either way, he reflexively raises his hand at the last moment and blocks the blade before it opens his throat. He is still completely bewildered by this turn of events. The crewman shift before his eyes into a black clad maniac with no mercy in his eyes.

---

In the cargo hold, the engineer enchanter excused himself to go to the southern room, leaving Haruka to examine her new tatoo or wonder at the arcane engine. Then suddenly she feels movement behind her and turns just in time to avoid the worse but receives a large and deep cut on her stomachs and looks in shock as the engineer changes before her eyes...

---

Max is staring at the ocean, deep in thought. He turns by chance and catch a blade coming his way and reflexively ducks. What the hell... He handles the ninja-like assailant well enough but then feels a burning pain as some kind of wizard screams wildly as he tries to fry him. Looks like a devil. Not a good day.

---

At the very same moment, as the group on the quarterdeck is chatting amiably, the captain suddenly shout: ''NOW'' in a shriek. She shift from a respectable captain into a scantily clad infernal seductress with a fiendish smile.

Two crewman jump on Ashir and Dante and inflicts grievous cuts that bleed profusely. Rocco turns on the traitress in fury but she only smiles sweetly.

-''I love your haircut, dwarf. It's so very bold and beautiful. Do you think I'm beautiful too?''

Yes, oh yes... She is so beautiful.

GM: Nementah is up for a surprise action (Standard action only). Max and Dante are up for a full turn. Everyone else is free to curse.

For fun, here is my first roll for the assassin's attack. At first I was think; ''AWFUL!'' then I realized I had rolled 1d10 for the attack roll. Ahem.
Assassin's QUarry vs Reflex 1:Haruka 2:Renquist 3:Max 4:Ashit 5:Dante (1d10+10+2=13, 3d6+8+2d6=24, 1d10+10+2=20, 3d6+8+2d6=26, 1d10+10+2=17, 3d6+8+2d6=29, 1d10+10+2=17, 3d6+8+2d6=19, 1d10+10+2=20, 3d6+8+2d6=20)

Succubus
Succubus Dominate vs Rocco Will (1d20+12=31)

Rocco is dominated TENT. I really doubt that he suddenly gets to act in the surprise round just because he got dominated so he doesn't do anything just yet.
[/sblock]

GM: Status Highlight: Rocco is dominated.

Haruka, Ashir and Dante are bleeding.

GM: The ship is VERY cluterred. It's hard to move around. Every square that has stuff in it and the stairs are difficult ground, so are squares who are partly filled with water. This makes shifting hard.

In the Cargo hold, G2 is the only square that isn't Difficult Terrain (DT)

In the lower deck, I3 and J3 are the only squares that aren't DT.

Main Deck: C2, C3, F2 F3, G2, G3, H3, I3, J3

Quarter Deck; All square are ok except those that have the catapults, the wheel, the stairs or L1, L4

[sblock=Turn that I wasn't paying attention for] Ashir draws his staff as a crash of thunder erupts from the genasi, his eyes crackle with arcane energy as the terrible wound continues to leak his lifeblood. "Rocco, Dante, let's finish them quickly, I worry about our friends" Ashir says, slashing his staff in a horizontal swipe, blasts of lightning emanate from the implement. The assassins dodge the attacks, but one bolt slams into the devil.

His staff bursts into flames, and the genasi looks as surprised as everyone else when an explosion of fire erupts from his form. The men are caught by the flames, which cling to their frames, but the succucbus' infernal nature protect her from the assault. His allies are spared from the fire as well.

[sblock=Actions]
Minor: Draw staff
Move: Promise of Storms (+1d8 damage on lightning damage TENT)
Standard: Lightning Bolt on vs ref (I1 assassin, I4 assassin, succubus); lightning damage; promise of storms (1d20+10=18, 1d20+10=12, 1d20+10=26, 2d6+10=18, 1d8=6) wow...so hits succubus for 24 lightning damage (No OA due to Staff Expertise feat)
AP: Fire Shroud - vs Fort (I1 assassin, I4 assassin, succubus); fire damage; (1d20+10=30, 1d20+10=20, 1d20+10=19, 1d8+10=15) hits everyone. The succubus resists all of it. 15 fire + 5 ongoing fire(save ends) to I4 assassin & 22 fire + 5 ongoing (save ends) to I1 assassin fire crit damage (1d6=4)

Ok so 24 lightning damage on Succubus, 22 fire + 5 ongoing to assassin @ I1, & 15 fire + 5 ongoing to assassin @ I4.

save (1d20=10) no longer bleeding

GM: It's not Ashir's turn. Only Nementah is up for her surprise round action (standard only) while Dante and Max won initiative and are up for their full action.

But then, it's the bad guys again.

[sblock=ooc]
Ah...sorry. I assumed when they drew weapons and attacked it was normal initiative...and I didn't read the sblock[/sblock]

Damn...I should have know something was up! Max says out loud angry at himself. Looking around he sees that no of his friends are around to help. Dammit! This is worse than I thought! Little help here! he shouts again, hoping to call for aide as he equips his sword and shield, then drives his sword in a thrusting motion towards the assassin. The assassin easily dodges his attack.

[sblock=actions]
minor: equip weapon

ooc: what good is a warlord when he's alone :rant:

Dante curses and leaps away from the assassin, his gleaming kama-chain whirling out as Virgil steps protectively between the assassin and his master. Dante's kama flickers out almost faster than the eye can follow, but the assassin is just as fast, parrying most of Dante's attacks with equal speed. Only one minor blow gets through.

[sblock=Actions]Free: Draw Spiked Chain

Saving Throws: Save vs 5 ongoing: 1d20=5, use Amulet of Resolution to reroll. 1d20=5. Anyone surprised? :p

Immediate Interrupt: If an enemy within 2 makes an attack on Dante or an ally, he'll use Disruptive Strike on them: +12 vs AC, 2d4+8 damage and -6 to the triggering attack roll. If he misses by 4 or less, he'll use Heroic Effort as a free action to make it hit.

Nementah moves to box in the assassin between her and the paladin, already planning to get Primera over his head.

"Paladin, let's get this over quickly, there may be a need for some healing above. This cannot be isolated attack. Move him away from me if you can, please."

OOC: Call Primera above his head

OOC: Sorry, read it first time and it was several hours before the post, so I forgot

GM: Can't shift. It's almost all difficult terrain. See the details in first round post.

What a great start for Rocco :(

At least he's unarmed yet. And will be for some time (lower damage and to hit with one weapon)
