Rather than fight against the frictionless surface of the ink, Haruka uses it to increase her momentum as she slides away from the bulk of the kraken and into its remaining tentacle, which she neatly severs with a sweep of her claw.

The kraken is wounded and seething. His vast tentacles wrap around Max and Dante. The beast wants to drag Dante under the water but he only succeeds after a mighty struggle that takes much of his concentration.

GM: Climbing back on board hasn't changed; it's still athletic 25... so Renquist, stop that RIGHT NOW! ;)

It's acrobatic 15 and two move to use the wheel to get back up. If you fail, you still get back up but you take damage.

At this point, one might also try to swim to the kraken and fight in water... Open sea is DC 15 to swim. Remember that most weapon take a -2 penalty to attack in aquatic combat except spears and crossbows. Approaching the kraken might get tricky with its threatening reach but you could conceivably use stealth to approach from under the boat... Not the best option for the specific PCs in the water, I know! Still worth mentioning.

Max manages to free his sword hand from the tight grip of the kraken grasp. With it, he slices down on the tentacle. However, his swing almost causes him to loose his grip of his weapon.
