Adventure: Just Before Nightfall (DM:johnmeier1, Judge:Ozymandias79)

The group leaves the inn and walks into the forest as the light of the sun begins to fade in the sky. After only five minutes they reach the small stream that Murphy described.

"Give us a few minutes head start, we'll need it to get into positions"
Murphy’s form dissolves into a shade and disappears into the long shadows of the trees. Tonk also sneaks away, using his amazing skill he disappears to his allies.

After a few moments, the group continues down the path, acting nonchalant and making no effort to quiet their approach. As they cross the bridge the campfire is clearly visible past a large boulder and near a large tree with Hausk, Ackurno, and Zheis seated around it. Hausk still seems bloodied from the furious and “friendly” assault by Tonk. From the opposite side of the path comes a shout It’s him! as Alefel appears from the brush with his bow ready and looses an arrow at the nearby boulder. One of the shadows cast on the boulder dodges and Murphy’s shadowy form is barely visible.

The three around the campfire stand up and turn towards the noise. No, it’s them. Time for some payback says Hausk.

[sblock=status]Okay, time for combat, I tried to incorporate everyone’s plans into one story. Murphy was spotted before anyone could get into position, so there is some distance to overcome. And now we have normal initiative. Again, all PCs (3 right now) can go in any order before Enemies unless you are waiting on something.

Surprise attack on Murphy misses, Tonk gets a 28 stealth check, rolled group perception and initiative. Using Invisible Castle again!

Shoot...

Cursing under his breath, Murphy looks over his shoulder and sees his allies far away. Now was not the time for heroics and he worked best out of sight, he quickly throws a wisp of shadow that collects around the elf, and then ducks back behind the rock, drawing his crossbow.

Looking at the group coming up the bridge, he holds up three fingers and points to the camp that he saw them at, then 1 finger and points to where he saw the elf.

Shorrin... can grant combat advantage to the strikers. I took a power that allows me to basically circle a target. So...... He can stand and fight and move. I plan on both granting combat advantage and repositioning so that I am in the way. Mobile Meatshield ftw. [/sblock]

[sblock=KenHood]They are in range of your sling for those powers. You can probably Deft Strike and reach the dwarf with shuriken. Is there a specific power you meant?[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc/tactic/Shorrin]

No real point in staying where he is now. As of this moment, I am planning on having Shorrin run down the path toward the group of enemies. That may change if the distance changes enough for him to move/charge one of them.

Just hoping none of them hit me too freaking hard. [/sblock]

*sigh*

Tonk will move south two spaces, maintaining cover. He will ready an action to charge the first enemy that comes into range (i.e. eight squares).

[FONT=&quot]Hausk moves forward Where is the stupid half-orc, I wanted to kill him first!

[sblock=OOC] Hausk moves to AG9
Since their first action will trigger your attack, I thought it would be nice to let you go, KenHood, before I post their whole turn.[/sblock]

"Here I is!" shouts Tonk with unmasked glee.

He rushes from the shadows, directing a blow of his mace at the dwarf.

Charge to AF8 & attack dwarf...
+1 to hit from charge
+2 to hit from combat advantage (due to stealth)
Roll: 1d20+8+2+1=12
Ouch! Natural 1!
