Did I miss anyone? This is starting to look like a game of Gauntlet.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]30 in status, 30 on the map. My, that's a lot of zombies. I wasn't sure from earlier. Are the squares around the prow of the boat (e.g. g -1, h -1) the same sort of difficult terrain as the rest of the boat?
If so, My suggestion is for Fenwick to move to G -1 and Howl of Fury F -2 (blast F -4 to H -2). Since HoF explicitly says it affects all enemies, the dwarf, not an enemy (that we know of) won't be affected.
Ideally, Rujah can move to, say, H4 and breathe on a whole bunch of them, but someone will have to get rid of I -1 so he doesn't take an OA in getting there.[/sblock]

[sblock=Ships and boats (edited)]You're right. 30. Definitely HOF time, wouldn't you say?

Other small boats are difficult terrain, just like yours. If any part of a boat is adjacent to any part of another, you may cross from one boat to the other as if traversing difficult terrain, but failing an athletics check on a turn where such an interface is crossed means that you must save vs. falling into the water. If you succeed, you're prone on the edge of the boat you started in. I you fail, you're in the water and must swim or climb back into a boat.

You can stand in any square that contains any element of a boat, but moving into a square less than 50% occupied by a boat piece has the same consequences as crossing from one boat to another (failed athletics and save means falling into water).

The deck of the large ship is not difficult terrain, but it is 4 squares vertically removed from the map. The only way to get to it is to fly or climb the ladder (currently occupied by zombies). You can, however jump from the deck into the ocean with no fall penalty (you will, however, be swimming when you land).

I recuse myself from commenting on your tactics. Good luck, and may the powers of IC be with you.[/sblock]

Fenwick, having dispatched the nearby enemies, rushes towards the prow of the boat and the next batch he can get to without falling in the water.

"Fenwick eliminate all threats!" he yells as he swings his axe wildly and fails to do so.

[sblock=OOC]
Is G2 a valid square to move into? My current plan is
Standard: Second Wind
Move: to G2
Minor: Dragon Breath, catching 8 of the zombies in the blast... or... I could use my daily, then use an Action point on the Dragon Breath, making me more likely to catch all 8.

Opinions?[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]G2 is valid now that Fenwick has moved out. However, if the breath is 5 vertical as well 5x5 horizontal, then you could move to H4 and get 11 of the buggers, including those up on deck. HM? Any call on that?[/sblock]

[sblock=Close Blast]According to this thread, close blast is vertical as well as horizontal (Man! That's a lot of acid ) . That being said, the hull of the ship provides cover to the zombies on the rail (column 7) and blocks line of effect to the zombies beyond that.

According to the PHB, line of effect must be established from the origin square (i.e.: the square in whch Ruhah is standing). Don't know how up you are on your trigonometry, but if Rujah is standing even three squares away from the boat, his slope is still 1.33 when it intersects the deck level of the ship. Therefore, there is no LOE to the column 8. If you don't mind the -2 penalty, this could catch as many as 6.

Also, seeing as Fenwick was unable to kill I-1, Rujah still risks an OA if he moves. Others (Riardon or Jin) could help with this though.[/sblock]

The ronin continued to bleed, but this was not the first time he had fought near death. The eastern warrior had been trained to ignore his own death in the service of his master. While he no longer had a master, that fighting style still dominated his psyche, and these companions were like his Lord.

"Away from Rujah, water Oni!" Jin shouted, flicking his wrist with his father's blade. Acid whipped out from tip of the blade. But the attack missed, striking the water. The ronin bluffed, "I will kill you the next time! I will kill you all, if you do not back away!!"

[sblock=Tenchuu]I'm assuming you were targeting I-1 and not the dead DOs at F0 and F2. Right? If you were trying to target the dead bodies, then you would have only missed by 1 due to prime shot, but the dead bodies would have been allowed an OA each on account of the close ranged attack... Oh. Wait. Their dead, so forget the OAs. ;)[/sblock]
