The dragon beats her wings violently.

“[FONT=Viner Hand ITC, cursive]Oh no you don't, Wyrmling!”[/FONT]
Her mighty tail sweeps down and knocks Rujha off his feet.

So vehement is her rage that she tears into the kobold that impaled her heedless of the power of Gensai's protective magic. The attack also barely misses another of the dragonkin.

Fenwick's words offer some assurance to the kobolds, though they carefully avoid the adventurers. They will trust them for now, given that they have a common foe. They all move to surround the beast.

“Dissmisss your fire, Wizard, or mooooove it!” one kobold squeals as the flaming sphere sears him, he moves to get away from its heat. Another who is not so fortunate to have an escape route hunkers down and goes after the dragon. He manages to pin the dragon to the stone once again, shoving his sword into her talon and between the stones beneath. The dragon roars again in frustration.

For the moment, the party has some advantage to catch its breath.

[/sblock][sblock=OOC]Whew! Redid the map. I apologize for the crudity. I don't have access to the original MapTool campaign file. It's at home, and I'm away. Things will be back to normal by Saturday the 11th.

Two things to notice. Your well planned marking scheme has been foiled by a well-meaning kobold. I guess it may be a blessing in disguise, since Rujah might get a chance to use something more colorful than an MBA.

I took some liberties here, assuming that the Winter's Herald DT effect doesn't climb the chimney. In any case, my assumption currently benefits the party (since the dragon is already immobilized), so I'm hoping you will let it slide for this round.

Please help me with any errors you see, since I have not had a great deal of time to proofread this.

Cheers and good luck.[/sblock][sblock=Chimney Rules]Squares adjacent to the chimney (Chimney is at A23 and B23) can be scaled as DT on the way up, and regular terrain on the way down.

Traversing the squares of the chimney from one side to the other requires climbing to the top and descending the other side plus two squares of movement at the top.

The chimney squares themselves can be stopped in at any elevation (0,5, or 10 feet). Climbing, however is required to ascend these squares to 5ft and above.

Descending is done as regular terrain.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Did one of the kobolds just ruined Gensai's daily mark . I know we failed to communicate about this with them, but I still think this autohit damage was a grat possibility for us.
Do the kobolds count as allies for the purpose of Warlord powers? With their to hit bonus, Direct the Strike would be really effective.
Is defender7 still marking Gensai?[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc/HMG]Grrrr.. Stupid Dragon. Luckily, the effect of my daily still applies, but I'll need to remark it.

HMG, I think you forgot to reduce the damage (on us and the kobolds) when AoS took effect. Rujah took no damage, I believe.
[/sblock]

[sblock=WD]You're right. The mark on the dragon has been superseded. The kobolds are not "allies" for the purpose of game play. Consider them a "handicap".[/sblock]
[sblock=Tenchuu]You're right. Retconned. Rujah took no damage, and Defender9 takes only 4[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]I actually like this new map just fine! One thing: not sure what the chimney is or how that applies to anyone.

Not to spoil anything, but the Winter's Herald DT - like any burst effect - would most likely apply in 3 dimensions. I'm happy to ignore that for now if you say it benefits us, but it would be a cube, yes.

So just to make sure, if I were to move the sphere to A25, it would hit only the dragon, correct? Also, did the dragon take 10 damage from the sphere on the start of its last turn? I'm especially concerned as the auto-damage from the sphere is the only way I will do anything this battle, since we're not attacking kobolds. :)[/sblock]

[sblock=EB]I wrote the rules in order to explain the movements of the kobolds, and to let you know how to climb the chimney should the dragon ever manage to vacate the spot.

Yes. The dragon took 10. I just didn't write it in the actions block like I did with the kobolds. Sorry about that. Moving the sphere 10 A25 will make the dragon the exclusive recipient of damage from the sphere.

As for Winter's Herald, it will be played in 3D from now on.

To be honest, it wasn't because I wanted to give you a break, but because I had completely forgotten about it until after all of my moves were done. I discovered that if I retconned to make it 3D it would be far more effort, since it would mean rolling and posting 4 Tail Sweeps.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Ok, so the dragon is on a chimney? Gotcha.[/sblock]
Mervin raises an eyebrow at being chided by a kobold, but seeing his companions working with these creatures instead of against, he moves his flaming sphere so that only the dragon will take damage. Noting his position relative to his comrades, he also makes a slight tactical withdrawal.

[sblock=ooc]minor: sustain sphere

move: move sphere to A25; anything that starts its turn next to the sphere will take 12 fire damage

standard: Move off the map. In order to spread us out (because of the dragon), I'd like to move diagonally backwards - to the NE. It's not on the map, but assuming the grid continued like it does I'd like to go to -H30 (also assuming nothing is in the way). That's 5 north and 6 to the east. Just let me know if that doesn't work.[/sblock]
