[Adventure] Lost Love (DM: Velmont - Judge: Renau1g)

Talkrai looks uncertain at the whole situation. She wants to run forward and help. She wants to send some sort of bolstering energy to Jasper. She doesn't want people hurt any worse. Never having been in a situation like this before, she's not sure if Pis's talk is the way to go, or if she should just do what these people say. In the same instant, she's wondering if they know how to get past this room, because otherwise backing up will just make them all trapped; and how did these people find them in the first place?

She opts, for now, to take a middle road. She keeps a wary eye on the doorway, leaving those who can see better to better assess that situation. Taking a step back toward the statue, but not toward the water, she brings her sword up to the ready.

Pis considers for a moment and then moves to the far side of the bridge, flipping his dagger nonchalantly.

Ryda coolly eyes the newest arrivals, not a hint of surprise showing on her face over the ambush. Now Pis, just because we were paid a bit in advance, doesn’t mean we should let Jasper die. I’m sure with this change of situation, there may be an option to renegotiate our deal. She slowly backs away as she speaks, moving across the bridge and to one of the corners.

Addressing the Gnome and soldier, she adds, “Might we at least know why you are here, I don’t see a reason for us to be enemies, we are here to explore, and there is no reason for bloodshed. Those that came before you came in and opened fire on us, so we defended ourselves. You seem more intelligent and have not provoked us. If you are also here to explore, we could team up, and Jasper made no mention of how items found in exploration would be handled, but there is a good chance he might let you have those you find. I would ask you ease back that sword just a bit, since if Jasper bleeds out while we talk, you’ll lose a bargaining chip, and yes, those hostages topside still work in your favor, that knowledge would provide little comfort while my friends dagger reworks your insides.

Don’t get me wrong though, they let Jasper go, and I have no issues turning gnomeboy into a pincushion, and then rushing back to the top to solidify our position. I just don’t want our actions to kill Priam… and maybe Jasper[/sblock]

Unit 16 takes a moment to survey the situation. Then, without a word, he slowly sheaths his hammer and takes several steps back around the corner, seeming to move even more mechanically than usual.

Once out of the field of vision of the stairs, he looks intently at Talkrai.

[sblock=ooc]standard: Carefully examine gnome and warrior. What do their professions seem to be? How are they armed, other than what was already described? I can roll a perception if necessary. Also, does the gnome seem to be rather... physically fit?

2) Kalashtar's telepathy is a two way and you must be within 5 square to be used. You are free to do what you want within these parameters. That mean Unit 16 can talk to Pis if Talkrai is willing to retransmit any conversion.[/SBLOCK]

Pis eyes the newcomers and gauges each in turn. His eyes lock with his employer and Pis wonders what he thinks of these events. "Jasper, are you alright? All things considered?"
